Well, that is a design from Latin America. There isn't a big Latin American cultural influence in his state yet. California, Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada and Texas, you see it a lot.

Hey Pete. Looks good. I am in the lawncare biz as well since 1986. Much respect on your success. One thing I do when I'm striping is on my second cut I'll raise the deck up maybe 1 notch so I don't erase my first cut. It seems to help just a bit.

GraSSman 86 i do that on my personal property. I mow one way with a 30" timemaster at 4 inches and then mow another direction with my 48" scag walk behind at 3.75 inches. Kinda makes a plaid pattern.

I don't have a commercial mower, but I DO have a Big League Lawns Checkmate kit on my Honda HRX217 walk behind. Even in my salad bowl, weed patch of a lawn, I get fairly decent stripes out of it. I reckon they're probably about the best stripe kit you can put on a mower.

I have a Big League Lawns checkmate striper on my 21 inch Husqvarna for the last 3 years. Looking to move up to a 42 to 48 inch with the same striper but maybe a Deere or something else but this Wright mower looks sharp. I love the Fescue as well!

I know it’s better for the lawn to have longer grass, so the roots go down further. However, what if you want a short turf, like a golf course fairway? I know that’s bent grass, and meant for that. But what’s the downside of having a 2-3 inch mow? And can you still get the stripes with that short of a lawn? Golf courses still get it on that short bent grass. So I gotta believe you can get it in a shorter fescue as well.

Do you cut the grass at different heights when you’re making your diamond pattern? As in the first pass is one height and the second pass is different? Or is it all just how the roller lays the blades down?

I have a zero turn mower to get good straight stripes what do u use as a guide the front casters or edge of mower deck my stripes don’t come out straight or don’t look even and never can seem to match them up

Nice looking yard, Pete! Also, thanks for arranging a 10% discount on the stripers. Just one correction though - Diamonds are a two dimensional shape and boxes are a three dimensional shape. I understood what you meant to say which was a square shape, not a box shape with the stripes in your lawn. I know. That's being picky. Sorry. :-)

I am in the process of doing a small spot in my yard. Clearing all the stumps and digging out the rocks. I tried round up to kill the grass and half are still green. This Friday I am going to use a tiller and spread new top soil. I live in eastern part of Pennsylvania. How can I order the same grass seed you are using?

I run a 36 wright stander and LOVE it. I'm just about to buy a striper for this coming season. That looks like a 52 in your video. If so what size striper did you get? Big league recommends a 30 but that seems a little small. What are your thoughts? Also, there's no way in hell I could comment and NOT tell you how gorgeous your turf is. Way to make another lawncare owner feel ashamed of himself..Keep up the good work, cheers!

Once you've "cut" the yard using the first angle, do you need to continue "cutting" to make the diamonds, or can you just drive over the yard in the new pattern?

You don’t have to have your mower blades still on no but from my experience it’s best to cut your yard on a 45 degree angle then the next week cut it opposite and then trace your old stripes from the first cut.
