Self-Propelled & Balanced - If you are looking for a well built, great priced two stage snow blower that has a lot of features, the Yardmax 26" snow blower is one to put on your list of "must see" items. The absolute first thing we noticed about the Yardmax snow blower was the weigh distribution and comfort in the handle height. The balance and ergonomics of this machine feel a lot better than other snow blowers in the same category. After use, the features seemed to real us in a bit more. The heated hand grips help out a lot for the smaller jobs where you might not have gloves on!
The seven horsepower LCT engine has electric start that is powered from an extension cord. There is no on-board battery to maintain or replace over time. The electric starter is backed up with a recoil start. The dashboard is simple to use and gear changes can be done on the fly. If you are out early or late, there is an LED light that helps to guide you on the mission to clean off your driveway.
We do not have snow, so we went to our local ice arena again to give this snow blower a test. Our KZfaq video is a must see!
Build Quality - Compared to other models we scoped out in the same price range, the Yardmax has thicker steel on the intake. This is a good start for showing the Yardmax crew cares about their brand and reputation. The gear case is aluminum to save weight, but contains steel gears for durability. Other items to note are greasable joints, serrated steel augers and good tires.
