Hello everyone, in today's video I will be explaining a little bit about yarn weights and hook sizes, and the conversion from the global, UK and US terms. I hope you guys like it!

I forgot to mention that yarn weight is the size of the yarn, and if you know the yarn weight you will know what hook size to use. This table will be very helpful for some of you guys! :) :) :)

thanks for the video...where I am only seeing 1ply and 4ply.... does the needle size make a difference?

The hook size will make or project look different. If you use a 2 mm with a 4 ply, the stitches will be tighter if you use a 5 mm with a 4 ply yarn the stitches will be looser. :)

Maybe you can help me, some tutorials l think from China or Japan tell you that the yarn size is 8mm or 9mm. Can't find what size is equal to yarn from here say bulky or chunky? Buy the way your tutorial was great.

You can actually measure your hook with a measuring tape, after the curve of the hook you can measure the mm of the hook my just measuring the front of the round metal of the hook, I might do a video on it as I think it will help more people as well. 😍😍😍
