Hi Ron & Justine! I agree with you on the pea soup. I love it! Pea Soup was a favorite in Newfoundland, so my Newf Mom made it often. Except she used yellow peas. I like both green & yellow, but IMHO think the yellow tastes a little better. Maybe you could give yellow a try next time. My hubby and I drove 4 hours to see the eclipse in Ohio. It was great and we were glad we made the trip. Interesting about the girl who spoke like a Brit. As an ex-brat, I know that some military family moves can be tough. So, maybe she started speaking like a Brit in school in England to fit in. And then, just continued speaking that way in the German school because she missed her friends in England. Just a guess on that. My husband spent the first 10 years of his life living in the mountains of North Carolina. Then, his family moved to California. When he left NC, he had a very big Southern accent. In CA, he was teased and bullied fairly badly for it. So, he got rid of his accent. You would never know he was from NC as he no longer has a Southern drawl. A big congratulations on your catalog cover! You both are amazing on it! I hope everything is going ok for wedding and house. Have a nice weekend! Sue 😊❤

My wife's friend stopped by to pick her up for the day. She mentioned that she came down from STL to Ste. Gen. with her son's middle school class for the eclipse. She said it wasn't crowded and there were lots of activities. They had a great time. A photographer for STL NPR was there. He took video and photos that got picked up by the national network. Cool to see that you two made the Post-Dispatch!

I went to Colonial Williamsburg when I was about 11 and I already loved history, but I fell in love with the dresses and reenactment side! I debated going into collage as a history major and working at Colonial Williamsburg, but information was not as easy to get then. If KZfaq would’ve been around then and people like you two, I would have definitely followed through with that. Instead, I became a teacher and now I homeschool 5 kids and fill them with my love of history! I can’t wait to take them to Colonial Williamsburg and other historical sites for trips. Thank you for sharing with the next generation!

Lucky you! If it hadn't been cloudy here, we would have had a better eclipse viewing. Thanks to the clouds, my area had more of a cloudy type of darkness rather than a nighttime type of darkness. Relatives a couple hours away had a much better experience.

I'm sorry I missed the premiere and the LiveChat earlier today! Life got in the way and what else can one do but address it, you know? 😋 Me personally, I've never had ale and I almost never drink alcohol period. One of my grandfathers, God rest his soul, struggled with alcoholism and, as a result, I learned early on not to mess around with it. That being said, I do enjoy a nice bit of saké every once in a blue moon and I have had a couple different beers that I've enjoyed a cold cup of. But at the end of the day, as a wise man once said, "Every man's got to pick his poison," and mine is good coffee. ☕ I hope everyone has had a most enjoyable week and has a most rewarding, relaxing weekend! Cheers! 😃

Congratulations Ron and Justine for the catalog! The split pea soup meal and apple fritters looks delicious. Like Justine, I don’t like beer. Too bitter for me. Today’s food is full of chemicals like preservatives. Interesting facts that many US witness eclipses. I could not see the eclipse myself, it was too windy when I was trying to do a pinhole camera. The next eclipse will be on 2045. The eclipse was partial in Florida. I wish it was totality. I saw some photos it was cool even as a partial. This lady framed everyone by passing as a princess. I heard about that movie, but I never see it.

That's cool to be in a magazine!!!!! When I was a kid I dressed up as George Washington one year! 2 Be on a magazine like that would be a life highlight... I think many people love early American history. This is one of my favorite shows (your channel) I have ever watched, and I've started telling people about it, as I'm sure many do!

I loved the added sun touched breeze blowing through the room. Added a refreshing appeal. You both look so happy and content, as you usually do. Bless you both :) Also, as an edited note, perhaps Justine's friend who spoke with a British accent did it out of nervousness in a foreign high school. People can develop weird coping mechanisms for stress.

What I love about you guys (been watching you only 2 weeks) is that HERE's Justine, cooking in character and so colonial prim and proper, but then when she opens her mouth POW, that personality, a real 21st century American girl! I have three daughters and they all know how to pose for Instagram or whatever, but Justine is TRULY herself and Ron cracks me up. You remind me of my brother, Ron. You're both a lot of fun. FYI, what attracted me to the video was your amazing cabin, decorated in a way I somehow recognize (??it's sort of weird). Super neat cabing and Justine, I just love your lavender and green outfit today. Would love to try that one on! So adorable. PS, I'm an Army brat also and Marine Corps wife!

Great show today! I thought I was the only one who knew the words to Caribbean Queen 😂 On accents, upon first meeting my now husband (of 10 yrs), he spoke in a New Zealand accent for the first THREE dates! I suppose it's a coping mechanism to seem more interesting or to get attention? Justine's story of 3 years is impressive.
