It worked!!! Having gotten a Verizon Zenpad from a pawnshop I tried every other process on KZfaq, 6hrs later I was able to get behind the iron curtain and clear the previous owners credentials. Make sure you remove the SIM card first and connect to WiFi then back out to the beginning to carefully follow the genius steps provided in this video!!

This worked perfectly on one of these running Android 7.0. The customer had forgotten the password to their google account and was locked out. They were on the point of binning their tablet. Follow the steps carefully, maybe watching the video a couple of times before starting. You can set the device up using your own google account and then perform a further factory reset, at which point you can sign in with a different account or bypass account setup altogether and still use the device

One of the only videos that actually works on youtube. Thanks SO MUCH been looking for a working video for about 2 weeks now. USED ASUS ZENPAD 8.0 If you are remotely tech savvy (and I'd imagine you are if you found this video) then you'll be able to follow this video and fill in the gaps between the stages yourself. Took me about 10mins and did it first try. One thing this video didn't explain clearly is how to get to and from various windows (settings->browser-->settings etc). I managed to do this by re-downloading the quick shortcut link and then when it asked me if i wanted to redownload it I would click on the original file and navigate to the settings like shown before in this video. Thanks again.

I too got stuck on the deleting of the remote app. I was able to get around it though by restarting and then doing a factory reset, from within the new set up and then signed back into the same gmail i just used. Awesome job non the less. Liked and Subscribed!

Thanks for this video, it did work to bypass Google's stupid control of my tablet... eventually!!! For the most part though, your tutorial was awesome - very straightforward and easy to follow, but I had to really dodge around though to fill in some of the instructional gaps that were left in your tutorial. For example, my tablet was running OS 7, but as mentioned below, didn't have any videos (at all) in the Talkback help section like yours did. But I kept digging through the other help sections and finally found a video to watch under the Morse Code section, lol. I clicked on that and then was able to access Chrome from the clock icon as described here. But because I wasn't able to access the same video you used, I had to keep going through the instructions here repeatedly to figure out what the files you were referring to for downloading. I figured out the first file to download from reading the file names on the chrome screenshots on yours. so I did that and followed your instructions for that part (those were well illustrated, thank you). The second file though was a nightmare to figure out, lol. However I had earlier tried following the instructions in another video for the Asus Z8s - but those instructions were for Oreo OS 8 so didn't match what was on my screen. From watching it though, I did figure out that the second app you were downloading was the "Remote 1" apk (search "remote.apk download") - I also compared the files sizes to be sure. I made the mistake of trying to open it though - and it kept crashing, which added to the work - didn't see your comment to "not open" it til after - but it was helpful to know that even if after the fact. The other part in your tutorial that was confusing was regarding removing both of those downloaded apps - removing "quick shortcut" was fine, but the reference to removing and deactivating "remote 1" wasn't clear. At this point, I couldn't remember what permissions I had already given it, so wasn't sure what to de-activate. I ended going in and saying "no" to everything for it to be sure, haha. Maybe if you ever did this again though, do your pointer routine specifically in it's section, like you did in the "google account services" to show people what to deactivate. Also, if you could write the specific names of the apps (or weblinks) you're downloading to do the job in the description, that would be very helpful for those who aren't getting the exact same responses that you (and others) are. I'm thinking that maybe the tablet you were illustrating with was using later form of 7.0, whereas mine and probably others, was only running the basic stock ROM of 7.0 - broken screens incapacitating these tablets was pretty common - the screens crack really easily because of the design. There were other differences in the menus in mine that changed to match yours after I was able to get in and run the software update. Overall though, thank you so much! Even with the glitches, your tutorial saved this tablet from Google's control mongering ways.

Yes, Asus Zenpad 8.0 -P00A working great now. if you are having trouble , once inside , do a factory reset on device then start procedure. It works and I didn't even do it exactly like the video.
