To add on Sekiro not having difficulty settings: There are a couple things in the game that changes things, but only to make things HARDER

MrAssasination1 the game doesnt need any different difficulty settings, its meant to be very hard. Thats the point. If you're buying a hard game, you shouldnt complain when it isnt easy.

DMC5 was my first entry into the DMC universe. Actually, if you know nothing about the lore, there is a short video before you start a new game that summarises the lore for the entire series. Was pretty awesome and explained enough for me to understand what was going on :)

I mean, if we're being super technical, Suito Homu preceded both, but in Alone in the Dark's case, it's likely the fact that it was a PC game in a time when your average person couldn't afford a PC that could run Alone in the Dark. That, and Alone in the Dark suffers from the same kind of adventure game moon logic puzzles that Myst and Zork did, whereas RE was simplified just a bit for not-insane people...
