I went for shore jigging in Geoje in South Korea.
The spot was available to be accessed by walking.
The lure I used was 60g metal jig.
Check out my video see more detail about the spot where I fished and what I caught eventually.

Great video! I'm starting to fish again after moving to Korea from the States. It's nice to be able to watch a vlog of a local fisherman in English. Thanks for sharing!

Your English is very good. Great video production. Love the information you gave about that place you went to fish. And the footage of your trekking into the fishing spot is cool. You had to work to get there. Not easy. More awesome that your mom made the trek with you. Thanks for inspiring me that you can catch yellowtail by jigging from shore. I will visit for the first time in a couple of weeks. And want to see what Korean tackle shop is like. Japan’s tackle shop was like heaven.

Yes, it wasn't easy to get there but someone tied ropes where the path was sloped. I don't usually walk to the fishing spot but take a chartered boat to get off on any nearby island for shore jigging. Japanese fishing tackle shops must have more variety of items since Japan is more advanced in fishing but you won't get disappointed by visiting Korean fishing tackle shops as fishing is the number 1 hobby among Korean people, so we have necessary varieties.

Thank you for your comment! I tried taking my fishing rod aborad when I went to Australia and Malaysia. You can bring them but you need to put the fishing rod into a hard case so that the rod does not get damaged.

Great video, mate. Cheers from Europe. You should have asked your mom to hold the rod and you should have tried to lift the fish by the braid/leader. Anyways, good catch!

Thank you for your comment! The fish still had power at that moment, I wasn't sure if my could control the fish otherwise the line would be scratched and snapped. I just learned a lesson that I need to take the fishing landing net with me all the time :P

Hm..I don't think broken rod does not necessarily mean that the rod is not good. It has been pretty much good rod when it comes to durability, action and weight. There is always the possibility that damage has been accumulated to the rod over the time and lifting angle was not good either.

@rockyshore-english

Hello! Im an American living in korea. How do you find the places to fish?
@rockyshore-english
@rockyshore-english 3 жыл бұрын
I gather information through Korean fishing community or youtube channels. But I have been fishing more than 10 years already in Korea, so I do not really need to rely much on outside information. Sometimes I drive around and see which places look nice for fishing like how the shoreline looks, current, water depth and if there is bait fish.
