yeah you do but this guy does a few critical things wrong here. his heat treat is after he sharpened and polished the blade, the handle is pure brass which is extremely heavy, which throws the balance off entirely. I think this is a knife for show not for utility. heavy blades great for chopping cutting but they are heavy in the blade not the handle this aides in cutting
