Or she’d die as a sacrifice and not from cancer. Van’s basically responsible for all the s*it that went down. That’s why she’s acting weird.

Misty finally admitted her truth to Walter “I killed my best friend”.

Killing Nat feels like a big mistake story-wise. She’s so integral to the 90’s timeline and since the show heavily relies on parallels, I’m worried the adult timeline will be severely lacking without Nat’s presence. It also feels like a cop out for her to just die accidentally after setting her up to be this bad ass survivor.

Van wasn’t acting off. She always believed Lottie was communicating with a god.

I was also thrown by Van's attitude but one thing I noticed young Van mention is that she does not feel shame for the hunt because she was glad to still be alive. Taking that mentality to the present day Van. Knowing that she only has a few months to live would make her more willing to take the chance and go through with the sacrifice. If the wilderness ended up choosing her then no big deal cus she is dying anyway but if someone else is sacrificed, maybe the wilderness will accept that death as a replacement for hers due to the cancer. Lottie even said that the wilderness was pleased and she looked at Van and said that "She will see."

I was literally screaming at the TV when Misty stabbed Natalie. Juliet Lewis will be missed. She is a great actress!

The thing I want to know is why lottie said Shaunas daughter was powerful

They matched the young actors up with the older actors so well

Natalie will find the hidden cave because of the conversation she had with both Javi and Coach... None of the other girls know about these conversations so they will believe the wilderness truly has chosen Natalie.... RIP coach when the girls find the matches and fire wood with him in the cave😮😮😮

The wilderness didn't kill Nat. Nat chose to stop Misty. Misty made the mistake of puncturing Nat rather then Lisa. It was adults making wrong choices. The kids made wrong choices by letting Javi die. They could have saved him. they choose

It was interesting how Shauna mixed the cards and ended up getting the queen

Lottie realizing she made a horrible mistake. Lottie started her little wilderness religion out of innocents but along the way it got corrupted and spiraled out of control culminating in Javi's murder. When Misty told her about it she was appalled and misty gaslit the shit out of her and lied to the group saying she approved. Natalie has been the one hold out and the voice of reason... the last person i expected Lottie to assign as leader. But I'm starting to think this is exactly why she chose nat. because Nat doesn't buy in. I think Lottie is banking on the fact that if she assigns Nat - they will listen to her and that Nat is strong enough to lead them out of the darkness and bring them back from this darkness they are spiraling towards.

I'm now obsessed with how will they write Walter and Misty next season....can't wait!

I really think there is no wilderness, it is just the girls themselves going through trauma and that trauma materializing as the wilderness...right now there is no definite proof of anything supernatural and everything happening can be attributed to people not telling each other the truth and being shady...i will love it if it remained the same..and even though i am so sad to see adult Natalie die, i am happy that younger cast wont be going anywhere because i watch the show for the younger cast, they are all phenomenal and even if any of the adult one do die, i will keep watching because of the younger cast..

I'll be very disappointed if Nat doesn't put 2 and 2 together and find the tree cave by S3E1. she has seen the curious mossy trees when out with travis, she is the one who told Ben about the tree by the lake Javi was worshipping at, and heard Ben's piqued interest in that location, and she was the one who was with Javi on the lake when he said "quick it's not far from here", AND she knows 1 legged ben found it could get to it, and knows how to track animals.

It took WAY too long to get to this point. Now I have to wait a year for season 3🫠🤦🏻‍♀️

I can't believe they actually killed Nat

This is probably the only show I've ever seen where the teenagers are a lot more interesting and engaging than the adults(except for Callie). WILDERNESS story is what we want to see. Political campaigns, marital woes, affairs and cheating, financial problems, blackmail for money, suburban teen angst......all considerably more boring.

I legit KNEW the cabin burning down was going to be a plot point at some point in the show. But I figured Lottie would die cause something about the leader dying in the present made sense. Then Natalie became the leader and died. I also think Nat is the antler queen. I honestly think the third season will be the best of the whole show.

I don't think I'm able to continue the show once again because i didn't like season 2 much but they killed her?? She's like the main character for me in this show.

I was so disappointed in this finale, but there was a lot of interesting things my sister and I were thinking of: 1. Bad Tai absolutely came out multiple times in this episode. The change in her while they are drawing cards is so scary and obvious. 2. At the end when the cabin is burning, Lottie is LAUGHING. I think she believes this is the wilderness punishing them for Javi. 3. Could drawing a King card possibly mean death, rather than the queen? Javi true a king card and I am almost positive Nat drew a red King card that was shown for a split second.

The whole premise of is the “wilderness” actually some malevolent force. Or just them losing their minds as they find the wilderness grabs a hold of them more each day. Kinda got me messed up but still coming back for more… Hopefully with the whole writers strike we do end up getting a third season to explain a little bit more about the past. Especially leading up to the antler queen and who the girl in the pit was in episode one.

I feel that coach Ben burnt the cabin down yes to get rid of the girls but also because partly he realised deep down he couldn’t make it on his own in the caves

Plot holes are starting to appear and I hate it. What was the point of Ben hallucinations ? What is it with Sam, Simone and Taissa's career ? She nearly killed her wive, Sam was never picked up from school and she's just disappearing as if senators had no responsibilities. They also never explained Taissa double and the man they saw, we can only get invested in a mystery if you actually get some answers at some point.

So Nat saw young Lottie at the end with her younger self and Javi..does that mean that the theory that present day Lottie isn't really Lottie might be true? Is it Mari pretending to be her? They thought young Lottie was in Switzerland all these years so i guess anything could have happened to her 🤷‍♀️ who knows with this show at this point..

I thought maybe Taissa’s other was the 1 visiting Javi while he was missing. I thought he told the coach “she” said not to come back to where the girls & cabin was 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️. But def Lottie was the 1 who believed he was still alive.

Big assumption that Coach set the fire. He couldn't start a fire on his own in the cave. He was there to steal the matches, not use them. Or at least, it's deliberately not shown. So unless Coach admits to it one day, this is a show that had a self-combusting teddy bear in season 1, let's not rule anything out.

Idk if anyone else took the message of kill the queen from Lotties premonitions in earlier episodes with the behive talk of the queen and the queens card but thats the conclusion i had drawn. I just didnt know or think Natalie was the queen

So how did Walter shoot a cop in the trunk of the car, then blackmail his partner , then later show up to hug misty while law enforcement was swarming around them? I like yellowjackets, but these plot holes are what’s keeping the show from being a good show to a great show.

Another great season. I absolutely loved the dark and gritty vibe of it. It perfectly fit their slow decent into savagery and gradual loss of humanity. I just hope the writers get everything they’ve been demanding (cause they deserve to) soon so we can get season 3 as quick as possible. I don’t know how I’m gonna survive without a new Yellowjackets episode each week. 😢

I think that the girls will be looking to past Nat to get them out of the cold, and she will remember that Javi said he had somewhere to take her. She knows its close to the lake as he said they were nearly there, and Im sure Lottie or Travis will remember the melting snow around the tree, if not Tai leading Van in her sleep. Rip Coach, it will be brutal will they kill you. Have a feeling they may even cut his other leg off and make him watch as they eat it, feel like so far their cannibalism has been roughly excusable, but that brutal act would finalize their silence

Maaaaaan how anti climactic. I thought “oh they are going to kill off Nat because of all the signs”, but then I thought no Nat is smarter than all this shit & she’s gonna shut everything down & stop Lottie, like she said she would at the beginning of the season. Because her character is smarter than someone who would eat up all of Lotties bullshit, but I guess I was wrong. I didn’t even cry because at this point I didn’t even recognize who her character had become. Idk if I can watch anymore seasons. Totally did not pull at any of my heart strings & when that happens, I know I’m done.

I thought it was a solid finale. I do however have a few questions about where the show goes moving forward? I have never been a believer in there being a supernatural element to this story. The season 2 finale pretty much confirmed that. Now of course in episode 8 around the 27 min mark there were a few clues to suggest the audience may believe in something that is just a giant misdirect aka a Red Herring. I really didn't get the logic in Coach Ben's actions from the writing standpoint because it contradicts the morality that they established for the character. He wasnt ok with them eating Jackie, he was horrified by possibility them doing it again & totally repulsed by the concept of human sacrifice. So what I dont get is how he is opposed to doing whatever necessary to survive yet he is totally fine with committing mass murder if the survivors . No one can even argue the point of setting the fire was just to takeaway the survivors shelter not to kill them because he barricaded the door trying to prohibit them from escaping the burning building. It feels a little like the showrunners wanted an antagonist in the 96 timeline that wasn't just fighting to survive. Which in part contributes to why I am not sure how much story can be left. What I mean mainly with that is the Showrunners claimed in interviews over the course of the first two seasons that the plan for the series was 5 seasons. I am trying to figure out how is that possible? I am sure where the present day story goes, there really isnt at this point a lot of runway left. The season 2 finale did very little to hint where that part of the story goes. For this story to have 3 more seasons I think 2 things have to happen. The first being showing supernatural elements are most definitely involved in the story. The second thing is establishing that Coach Ben has become their enemy and before they are rescued they think he is dead. Why I say that comes down to my belief that there is a present day antagonist trying to get revenge on the group by forcing them re-visit their survival trauma. I believe coach Ben may be doing his best modern day Count of Monte Cristo having left the Wilderness years after everyone else. I have a feeling the show runners held off on fully exploring the possibility of their being supernatural factors to gauge the audiences response to there not being any. If there is a lot of disappointment in that choice they may establish the supernatural is involved during season 3.

The actress, Juliette Lewis wanted to leave, In interviews she was rude and said she didn't like playing Natalie and thought she would be different. It sucks. I wish they had a different actress who wanted to be on the show. I love Natalie's character but anyone else could have played her and she was written well. She esd my favorite character and I am soooooo disappointed. It was as if the writers just fell apart this season. They bought javi back silent and killed him 2 episodes later. This season was bad in my opinion and sadly the first season was epic.

This finale definitely missed the mark. I spent all season defending the show but pointless story lines, dragged out storylines, rushed resolutions with no set up whatsoever ruined the show for me now that I’ve seen the finale.

truly don’t understand the people who say there’s no story left. we are just barely reached the halfway mark in the wilderness, and that people don’t get that the fact that the survivors not being good people is the reason they survived

Shauna didn't want to be leader. And that Jackie made her feel invisible. I dint think we watched the same show. I think Van was a believer still and wanted to be saved by the sacrifice or die by sacrifice. She always was a believer from the beginning. Juliet leaving is awful... I really don't like it. Lewis was the biggest star on the show next to Ricci. I havr t rewatched this one yet. And I'm not sure about season 3 now.

I feel like the finale was anticlimactic. Mostly, due to the fact we saw Natalie’s death coming. I thought that there would have been some big reveal for the finale. For the next season, I’m looking to see what happened to coach Ben, what’s up with Callie, and more about Misty and Walter’s relationship. Still on the fence about Walter. That theory about him being related to Crystal, just makes sense to me. I wonder if Misty will tell him everything; or he sticks around and put the pieces together for himself. Like, did you see that gigantic puzzle he was solving by himself? I hope we don’t have to wait 2 years for the next season though.

I don't think Natalie is dead. I think Misty had to play it off so they could get Lottie help. I think the drug she gave her will wear off Nat will wake up. Her acting mad at the panel was just perfect that way it's truly a shock when she is alive. She seen Javi out of guilt but no one else who died was with her on the plane.

The girl Javi mentions is in fact Tais alter personality and not Lottie.

Looks like they hinted at Van’s cancer being cured by the sacrifice too. I think that’s why Van had that expression.

I love this season the only thing that didn't end well was the cops storylines, Walt should have kill them both and get rid of the bodies.

How do we know Ben set the cabin on fire? It showed him grabbing a rope and matches when they were pledging fealty to Nat and then the cabin was in flames at least an hour afterward when everyone was asleep besides Shauna. It didn’t show him strike the match and it didn’t show him standing there watching it burn so HOW do we know it was Ben…..?

Could be Mari posing as Lottie. Lottie was there on the plane in the end ( purgatory ?) saying “ you’ve been here the whole time “ maybe they are both really dead or have been the whole time . Some kind of a lost story line

This season spent too long meandering and then trying to cram everything into 2 episodes and even then not answering or resolving things in a good and smart way. Lets hope season 3 is better or it will be a wrap. Many people have been dissapointed in this season.

Next season we will find out Van's cancer is gone. Van wanted someone to die to spare her life once again. Natalie is gone... Javi died and his brother was so weak to accept the thing.... Coach Ben went completely insane, if he really was the one who started the fire actually... Misty killed Natalie.. She wanted to kill Lisa... But the poison was there for Lottie in the first place.. Taissa i don't even know how to describe her.. Shauna was pissing her pants off when the girls started to chase her, not nice to be the "chosen one" isn't it? ( Anakin knows) Kevin, a really good person, killed like that by Walter, the male Misty that seems to be all he is, and i was like" How will Natalie react" but then she died so she won't react... So they decided to kill all likeable characters and leave us with just hate for those who are left.. Game of thrones ended in the worst way, but we felt those characters.. I mean, i felt every stabbs in Jon's stomach... Don't know if I made the point.. What should I search from the next season? Watching the episodes hoping to see all of them to die in an horrible way both past and present? What for? I think I'll pass.. And to think i was waiting this season so much...

I've watched a ton of tv shows but two of them continue to haunt me: 13 Reasons Why and Yellowjackets. so dark and so powerfull

Well of course I want to see how it all unfolds in season 3 but I'm really going to have a hard time with it because Nat was one of my favorites. Plus I kind of have a feeling this is how it'll play out every season...ending with one of the older characters dying or something which will not make more sense for the story in the past because tbh, why would you follow a character you know doesn't survive in future? Plus i think there is something more to Callie (Shauna's daughter) and that weird plane scene must mean something... Why was younger Lottie there if it's only for the dead?

Just about everything that happened in the past/present was foreshadowed in some kind of way...... .Shauna baby died in the forest....but her daughter literally just became apart of the forest so technically she was born in the forest.....Javi death was foreshadowed several times.....when he asked are we gonna die....the knife from season one the one he stole from Shauna is the same knife also the white Buffalo that fell through the ice the one Nat tried to shoot and missed....also Shauna room when she was a teenager in high-school was in the attic....it's literally the same attic room in the woods....

i dunno how it will work but i think in part, that there is something magical happening, that they all DID die on the plane but "it" kept some of them alive, gave them life literally. that's why one of them see's a live mouse when it isn't, the bear, the moose. you get to live but you have to give up one of yourselves to keep going in your world. if you don't all of you will suffer in some way and eventually you might loose your life anyways. extended life with a price

i feel like referring to it as the wilderness does it injustice. its the DARKNESS that can be found in the wilderness/nature but not those themselves. theres darkness in all of us, some more than others. laura lee was one of the least dark filled girls on the team, n she kept everyone's spirits from breaking... whereas all the other girls have various levels of darkness in them (misty being a psycho, tai having a split malicious personality, shauna and her messed up teenage girl behavior, and of course Nat and all the terribleness she's had to deal n cope with as a child.

I started off loving this show last season…if I’m being honest this season simply isn’t good 🤷🏽 it’s as if the writers feel they don’t have to connect plot points or something. The final scene of season 2 is a narrative mess.

I stopped at the Javi butcher scene… it took me a week to finish episode. Everyone was at fault for Natalie’s death… but I was especially annoyed with Shauna for that asinine hunt suggestion and for her selfishness over her child’s life but not anyone else’s at the cabin… I was annoyed at Van for being reckless of others lives, especially since she’s dying of cancer. I was annoyed at Tai for not being strong enough and not calling off the emergency crew.

Natalie was the only reason I watched this series.

The coach didn't try to kill them because he was disappointed in their having killed one of them, or to avenge Javi, that isn't logical. He saw the torture and anguish they would face, their damnation and hopelessness, thought they would never get saved and would end up dying one by one, so he did what he thought was an act of mercy to save their souls and restore their humanity.

I cant believe it. Hands down one of the worst and most horrible season ending episodes i have ever seen. I was all in for this since S01 E01, i really loved it, then this shit show happens, like how can a show this good go to shit so quickly, Walter killing of the detective and telling the other one (who has been a competent police officer so far) a super BS story and the guy is gullible enough to go for it, also the two detectives and Jeff and his daughter arriving at the cult facility to wrap things up, and i know Yellowjackets has pushing the boundaries of reality type of story telling but this is taking the audience for fools, this was horrible writing, even the execution of this finale was horrible, look at when Shauna's daughter comes with the gun, LOOK at that scene again and tell me this aint some Tommy Wisseu The Room type of scene right there (OR the next one when the girl comes w the shotgun) unreal. One of the worst season finales for a used to be great show ive ever seen.

Is it possible that what Walter gave the cop was a drug that slowed the heart rate to the point that its pretty much undecetable. Its an anticonvulsant drug that depresses the central nervous system. Which is why he shot him in the car which would be classed as what killed him in an autopsy? Where I am going is, what if Nat wakes up and isnt actually dead? I'm not sure how Missy would have missed this as she surely knew what drug was in the syringe. Did Walter give her the syringe or did she find it in Lottie's cupboard? My memory fails me. Anyway, just a thought as I'm not ready to let Nat go 😢😂
