Setting aside the people experiencing hardships due to the flooding, I have to admit I am a little envious of what it must be like to nearly have the park to yourself. What a unique experience!

We went the last week of April. It was only about 1/3 open on the west side. It was emptyish and soooo nice! Early part of the day was sunny and after lunch it started snowing on us. It was AMAZING!! In May they open more roads. So worth the trip! I’ll never go in summer again…too crowded for me.

AWESOME! Stumbled across this video. Worked the summer of 1978 cleaning rooms at the Old Faithful Inn. Great memories hiking the park on days off, jaunts to West Yellowstone, hitchhiking ... riding in the beds of pickup trucks during a safer time. Something very comforting about Old Faithful still erupting on schedule 50 years later. Thanks for sharing this.

Nice reporting, thank you! I was fortunate enough to experience well over 6 years ago being only one of seven people standing where you're standing now. Feeling awe struck, even though I was lving in Big Sur CA., still needed to be in a different kinda "my neck of the woods" zone. It was a late October timetable. I traveled alone, alone and loved it. The peace and serenity the park offered then was a complete reset for my soul. It was a sublime feeling; being in complete awe AND finding oneself where no one else's noise could penetrate is rare. No one around PERIOD, is a moment to behold. 💌

Cool video Todd C! I have been watching your videos chronologically from your first one. All informative and spectacular! I was Just a few hundred miles to the east of you in Rapid City for the 2022 NSS Convention June 13-17, 2022. It stormed severly on Monday and Tuesday and got hot the rest of the week. I was on my H-D Road Glide and headed southwest on the 18th since I couldn't go west through Yellowstone. I wound up in Vernal UT after having to avoid (mostly) severe storms in western WY by taking the eastern leg of the Flaming Gorge loop. There were campers at the campground that were turned away from Yellowstone... I look forward to your future content 🇺🇸

Hey..just found your channel and subbed. I love the Greater Yellowstone area. I was thinking as you were driving over to Old Faithful, I wish you would stop sometime and show the folks little Isa Lake on the Continental Divide, I think it is amazing how at this time of year water drains out of both ends of the pond. Water that drains out of the west end(counterintuitively)heads towards the Firehole-Madison-Missouri-Mississippi and into Gulf of Mexico, while water draining out of the east end heads down to the Lewis-Snake-Columbia into the Pacific ocean. Seeing that happen back in 2011 blew my mind.
