Yellowstone White Buffalo Calf Naming Ceremony, "Wakan Gli" or Returns Sacred

Ай бұрынOn June 26th, there was a gathering of Nations to honor and name the White Buffalo Calf born on June 4, 2024 to the wild Yellowstone herds. The birth of the White Buffalo Calf fulfills an ancient Native American prophecy that is a blessing and a warning. Over 500 people attended the event that was held at Buffalo Field Campaign (BFC) headquarters on the territory of the Shoshone-Bannock. An altar was created with three buffalo robes and three buffalo skulls. A fourth buffalo skull hung on the peace pole representing World Peace and Prayer Day held June 21st every year.
Chief Arvol Looking Horse,19th Generation Keeper of the Sacred White Buffalo Calf Pipe and Bundle presided over the ceremony and named the White Buffalo Calf, Wakan Gli, Returns Sacred or Comes Holy.
“The prophecy of the White Buffalo Calf Woman says we are at the crossroads and it’s up to each and every one of us to make it happen. For the future of our children, we must come together and bring that good energy back.” - Chief Arvol Looking Horse
There were numerous tribes in attendance. Many spoke in terms of their cultural, spiritual, historic relationship with pte' Oyate or Buffalo Nation. Tribes, tribal representatives, council members, and tribal chairman all honored the sacred White Buffalo Calf and their own traditional buffalo lifeways. The late Rosalie Little Thunder, co-founder of BFC, was honored by Mike Mease also a co-founder of BFC.
James Holt, BFC executive director said, "This day is about the White Buffalo Calf, the wild Yellowstone herds and the Tribal Nations who have the longest reciprocal relationship with their four-legged relatives."

I dreamed I was a woman in the sky I looked down upon the land and recognized that the native people honoured white animals. And then became a White Buffalo in the field. two men approached from the left of where I was observing from the sky. they saw me in the field and became ecstatic when they saw me knowing it brought great fortune to their people. At that time my daughter also a White Buffalo came around to me from brush nearby joining me it was at this point the native people became especially ecstatic and prostrating themselves on the ground in disbelief of this wonderful sign.

I am very much into Native Americans and their culture. I have a picture of a White Buffalo and Buffalo Calf Woman, that says " White Buffalo Calf Woman brings the gift of the sacred pipe to honor all of creation. She then turns into a White Buffalo and returns to her people." How beautiful is that. I wanted to do a sabbatical on a res, but had to leave the Southwest because of needed surgery and I never got to do it. But I can only speak two phrases in Lakota...... " Breathtaking ", .. i am so happy in my heart , that this momentous moment happened in my generation .. migwetch , also at the same time it's a message from the creator, everyone's mother Earth is hurting , like a fever .... i give thanks to mother Earth, she clothes us , gives trees to make homes , water to quench our thirst .. animals to feed us , we need to protect her ..😊
