Enjoy one of the few times SuMetal can jump with the girls, like in MoaBanger version. This was remixed by DJ Tekina (aka Yuyoyuppe) he's behind many other BM songs like Rondo Of Nightmare and Kagerou, the song was later released as part of the single "Ijime, Dame, Zettai", and later appeared on DJ Tekina's remix album. BABYMETAL do the best opening ceremonies for their big shows - they used this for Legend D (Su's 15th) as well as Legend 1997 for her 16th. For legend 1997 this was the part that signified their origins as a Jpop Idol sub-unit with it being entirely lip synced and as the show went on they transitioned from that to the independent metal band culminating with the 'BABYMETAL Death' performance. One day we'll have you on 'In The Name Of' at the legend S show (Su's 20th) - now that was a doozy of an opening ceremony ...

Ahhhh the Buttons reworked video, great! He/she reworked quite a few older videos up to 4k, so make sure to check them out too :). That headbanger is really a banger, despite being edm style (or maybe because?) I like it (A LOT!) That introduction was really showing the transformation of Babymetal from an idol group to a real heavy metal band. Nobody really cares that that song was fully lip-synced :D

I have to agree with Grington300 300 as he/she also noticed the look of astonishment during the intro when there are some nice long shots of the huge statue at Center stage… your expression was just as if you’d been slapped across the face and we’re not quite sure what exactly had happened in that moment… that is a very interesting remix of a certainly timeless Babymetal tune. I got my 10 Babymetal Budokan Blu-ray Discs on the 28th and have been watching them since pretty regularly, so this was a nice change of pace. As per usual the complete production of Babymetal is truly mind boggling considering the complexity of their music, choreography, staging, lighting at every one of their live shows. True testament to the carefully orchestrated precision with which most things Japanese benefit from in their culture. Anyway, great to see your post and hope you have a terrific weekend. We, here in Sacramento are getting ready for Aftershock 2021 with Metallica headlining both Friday and Sunday… plus a crap load of kickass bands in between. Rock on, brah!!!

Nice reaction. How many bands could start a concert with the AvaMaria? Then a dance remix of your own song. I think even that crowd had a WTF moment. But it had to be cool to see. For another crowd stunning opening check out how Babymetal opened Legend S with "In The Name Of". These legend concerts are a big reason why folks say Babymetal Live is Best Babymetal. They were born to be on stage.

Nice! It's been a while since I've seen someone react to this. The part that replaces the guitar solo in this version is just absolutely incredible.

Yes it's a backing track and everybody is miming, but BM doing EDM/dubstep is awesome. The new dance moves are particularly effective with the Doc Martens IMO. But the best bit is when Moa and Yui make their appearance on the lift and we get close ups of them looking focused and then we see the audience and Yui and Moa from behind through a fish eye lens and their costumes have fluorescent highlights. Also this concert sort of encompasses BM's transformation beginning with this backing track idol group miming and becoming a full on live metal band by the end of the show.

This is a party, happy party, crazy party for Su-metal 16!

Great reaction, thanks! That was a very special (and crazy) opening for a show. But they had a good reason apart from being so cool. First, they started the concert the same way they ended the "Legend 1999" few months before this one, but in reverse (they closed with "Headbanger!" and another theatrical performance to Shubert's "Ave Maria"). But this time they decided to start with the "Ave Maria" and an unashamed lip-synced techno hardcore version of "Headbanger!", continued with a "normal" concert with "babybones" just to end up with the Kami Band on stage for the five songs encore. And all this was placed like this as a sort of metaphor of their transition from an idol pop sub-unit to a legit metal band. And that included their closing act with Su giving her human life to reborn as a metal goddess on "BABYMETAL Death". Believe me if I say I'd give anything to go back in time just to attend to this concert :) Until next time!

Su's Death and rebirth at the end of this show ended the initiation of Babymetal and started The Metal Resistance! So now, I think you are ready to live stream on Twitch (KZfaq will block it for sure) the "Legend S Baptism XX" show (Su's 20th Birthday marking the end of The Metal Resistance and coincidentally the end of the Yui / Mikio era for babymetal). It is a four year time jump. The opening of that show puts this one to shame (not that this one wasn't good). It's interesting that there appears to be quite a lot of 'metal heads' who are more than happy to indulge in EDM. You'd think they were opposites, but I guess when you push things apart they eventually meet on the other side of the circle. I don't want to derail your BABYMETAL journey, but if you fancy a change of pace to see some electronic music from Japan, I've a couple of suggestions. The first would be Perfume, sometimes referred to as BABYMETAL's big sisters, as they are also a trio managed by Amuse. You won't see a live band or even get much in the way of live vocals, but their shows are pretty spectacular. They also dabble in high tech visual effects and work with people pushing the boundaries between art and technology (think motion capture and robotic stage equipment). There's a good live version of GAME on KZfaq, and a 2010 live version of edge (⊿-mix) is also lurking. I suspect the copyright police might make reactions difficult. The second suggestion is a less well known alt-idol group called MIGMA SHELTER. Their music is based on techno/trance (they even call their live shows raves), but they blend it with J-Pop vocals and various other musical genres. The track 69 has a nice chunky guitar riff and a decent MV, so it'd good starting point. There are only a couple of other reactions on KZfaq, either they're tough on copyright or they are never requested. Their debut album, ALICE, a concept album loosely based on Alice in Wonderland, is well worth a spin if you fancy taking a trip.

I was surprised to see you hadn't reacted to 'Road of Resistance' yet.
