Blazer and PMC are my typical go to for pistol and rifle for training.

Only downside to Blazer 9mil is the damn big box. Since Blazer uses that size for multiple calibers.

Makes me appreciate the tiny S&B boxes.

I bought a couple cases of Magtech recently, 115 & 124, both brass case and am surprised at how its ran given the price point. About 800ish rounds through two pistols and a PCC without a single problem.

I just grabbed a case of the Magtech 115. Good to hear

I always loaded my own up until this year. I like Speer the most but to save money and shoot more now Blazer 124 from target sports is my go-to because I just don't like reloading anything other than precision rifle and oddball stuff. I'm exactly 6,300 rounds in so far over the last two months and have had two bad rounds. With both of those, the plating on the bullet got scraped, I'm assuming during loading into the case, causing it to get wrinkled up. I just dump the ammo into a .30 cal can so I didn't notice when loading the magazines. Both failed to go into battery because the bullet is now too "thick" for the chamber and racking it out actually pulls the case off the bullet, spilling the powder, and leaving the bullet just stuck enough to need a squib rod, but not stuck enough to need any real force with the rod to remove. Easy to avoid for matches by just dropping the rounds into the ammo boxes I used for reloads and doing a quick inspection. Other than that the performance has been just fine and I've noticed my improvement has become more rapid because I can just grab an ammo can and go out and shoot or get another dry fire session in instead of spend time working the press. Mo' practice, mo' betta'. Also the recoil and overall cost are no different for me.

I usually load most of my 9mm ammo. In September, one of the local gun shops went out of business. I think I got ~8,500 rounds of PMC bronze, and maybe 2,500 rounds of other various range ammo in 9 at a REALLY good price. Like, $0.01 over what my reloads cost. I've been shooting mainly my reloads (cast or powder coated bullets, or bulk plated...but I have to admit when I'm feeling lazy I just grab some of the store bought stuff and head out to the range. We definitely couldn't afford for all of us to shoot commercial ammo year round. My wife getting into pcc has been killing our ammo reserves.

For whatever reason Blazer shoots like poopie out of my guns. I really like Speer when I can find it.

Seems a few pistol forum gents like lawman cuz it supposedly feels similar to gold dot

Ben, I think lots of shooters use the Blazer and the PMC ammo is their go to, I have seen lots of people shooting that ammo at matches.

Liking federal champion 115 lately they are Softer shooting 115’s and very clean. Blazer 115’s seem the harshest in recoil. Mag tech good and fairly soft shooting but hit and miss in consistency

For me, reloading is how I can afford to have enough ammo to make sure I can actually progress. In the future, I would like to automate as much as possible or just buy ammo and reload only when I have to. Reloading isn't a waste, but it does take a significant amount of time. Time I'd rather spend with family or training.

That’s where I’m at , I have a 4, 3 and 1 year old and I gave up reloading 2 years ago. My time is limited between that and owning a business. If I have free time I want to be shooting not reloading and the savings aren’t that great anymore.
@n8kilgore5 ай бұрын
@JUSTAGUY1000 I've been able to keep the savings enough to make reloading worthwhile. Unfortunately, things are more expensive. I'm not on the hook to demo anything to anyone, but how I train requires more than I can afford to buy. Maybe I can get better more efficiently, but I'm not a gm.. the journey continues..

I get what I can get the best deals on in relation to quality. Don’t really care brand wise as long as it works. My range session are very low round count so 1k of 9mm lasts a decent little bit. I keep enough on hand to take several classes if needed and just buy another thousand when I get half through a case. Same shit for 5.56

Just wondering Ben, which Blue Bullets do you prefer out of a Shadow 2? I need to order some of their sampler packs, but don’t want to waist time trying them all 😂
@TICafeRacer5 ай бұрын
Couldn’t you make a deal with a distributor and buy a pallet at a time at bulk rates? I understand it would be a huge one time outlay, but the saving could be huge

Hi Ben, do you train/shoot 115 gr pistol ammo only? Do you use 140 grain pistol ammo often/at all. I find the latter easier to shoot.

Anyone had any issues with Blazer recently? I snagged 1000rds that had a lot of blowby showing on the side of the spent casings out of my g17 (maybe too low of pressure to seal in the chamber?) no malfunctions tho. Not an issue with other stuff ive run through it.
