Yet another Pakistan International Airlines flight attendant has disappeared in Canada after crewing a flight to the country. This is not a new occurrence, as PIA crew members have been abandoning their posts in foreign lands since at least 2019. At the same time, things seem to have picked up pace recently.

Thank God PIA are banned from European airspace following the finding that around half their pilots had bought their licences. It's bad enough having passengers absconding and disappearing into Bradford, Manchester and London without also losing the crew who are supposed to fly the remainder back home.

The crew are not absconding PIA, but they are abandoning Pakistan because of high food prices. Any measures by the airline just wouldn't work out. No one is fond of begging for food.

First of all in the video it says the flight arrived and then took off the next day with the same crew. If you look at that no international airline that flies to North America is giving crews less then 12 hours of rest. All of them are 4 day trips. PIA is not law abiding and no crew from anywhere will accept that. No wonder flight attendants are leaving.

PIA answered their own question in that Canada has very liberal asylum policies. Placing restrictions on who works the Canada flights and threatening defectors with legal action if they return to Pakistan is not going to do anything. The latter confirms to those who already disappeared why they made that decision. If PIA are that worried about defecting flight crews, maybe they should stop flying altogether to countries with liberal asylum policies.

I do not believe asylum is easy to get. Maybe for applying for one and waiting for years, but success rates are usually tiny percent, especially in the US

In the 90's, Northwest Airlines hired Philippino's, flew them from Manila to Minneapolis for 7 weeks of initial training. Problem arose when their flights touched down in San Francisco [ first point of entry into U.S.]-- they melted away, never to be found.
