so perhaps I am extremely bad with technology or just stupid, but I could not for the life of me get the QR Code to scan on my second and third cameras when setting it up. I bought them several weeks after my first camera. Your video helped me realize exactly how to scan the QR codes (I was holding the screens too close together). So, despite my inept attempt to set this up, your video helped me out a lot and I sped through the rest of the process. THANK YOU

I've had my 4 Yi Home Cameras for about 3 years now. In the general, they are inexpensive, medium quality cameras. Over my 3 years of use, I've noticed a few issues... 1) The sound quality is not very good. When the video is viewed live with sound or captured from the SD Card and played back as an MP4 the sound has always had a rhythmic hum or something that makes it exceedingly difficult to hear conversations in the video. It's not quite as bad as a feedback squeal, but more like an oscillating low frequency hum (think of a fan in the background going from off to high over and over again). I've lived in 2 different homes while using these so it's not the room or the house causing the sound issues. 2) The video captured to the SD card is stored in hundreds of 1-minute clips and you are required to use the Yi App to capture the portions of the stored video that you want to retain and not have written over. This capture function runs as long as you want and stores the video as an MP4 file on the device running the app. You could grab the original 1-minute video clips from the card but then would need a video editor to merge them into a single video. No matter how close my phone is to the camera, or the camera is to my WiFi router, or even if they all three are piled on top of each other, 90% of the times I am capturing video I get a network error! Any network error will cause that portion of the captured video to pixelate for several seconds, or the sound will cut out and then not sync up correctly afterwards, or the screen turns green for a bit or the entire captured video file will end up corrupt and won't play. Of course, the app doesn’t alert you, so you don’t know how the video is affected until you’re done capturing and play it back. And if you didn't catch this corruption issue in time, your camera may have already written over the original 1-minute video clips and your footage is gone forever. 3) During the most recent software update the app viewer was modified and now it has a vertical green bar at each end of the viewer that cuts off about 1/10th of the image. They didn't scale down the entire screen, they just chopped off 1/10th of the video's image at each end, giving you a narrower field of vision. The Support people can't give a reason for this useless and irritating update to a viewer that worked perfectly fine as it was. - - So that's my review and experience using the Yi Home Camera for the past 3 years.

I installed 2 cameras yesterday, both connect to the same network, both have the same sd card storage and both have the same configuration. Do you know why one of them has recorded all day long and the other only when motion is detected? I'd like both to record all day so I can look at the history at any time

You said you 'downloaded' a video to your phone. From what I can see in the app, I can only download the 6 second clip you get when you're given a motion alert. I recently purchased 2 of the Yi dome camera and I'm very pleased with them. 2 cameras are set up in different homes. What I want to do is to share the 2 cameras with a 2 different groups of people. Reading the instructions it seems possible to invite people from the preview page but from there I'm lost, do they have to sign into my account and won't that enable them to see both cameras? Help?!

I installed my cameras last night using my cell phone. Today I left to work and was only able to view the camera when the motion detector was activated, and viewed only a 6 second Clip of the video. When I wanted to access the camera itself and watch the camera live I was unable to do to a connection issue. I was only able to view the camera when I got back home and my cell phone connected back to wifi. How can I watch the camera live when I am away from home?
