Today we are at the fairly new Yi Xin Café, located in the Market City Shopping Center. The owners also own the well-liked Sing Ma Tei restaurant in the Ala Moana Food Court. They feature Malaysian, Hong Kong and Singaporean Dishes.

Aloha Misty , I’m back home in Sydney. We had a great holiday on your Island and made the most of every day we had there. The food there is very good ! Yes we had SingMa Tei, Musubi’s , Shave Ice and many many more. I did have a Vietnamese Ice Coffee with the condensed milk at CreamPot in Waikiki. I don’t know if you had these , we went to Kailua for a Lanikai beach day , our first stop was Agnes Portuguese Bake Shop (it’s a food truck in a parking lot) this guy makes hand made Malasadas ,they were round with a hole in middle , sugar coated , these were the best, better then Lenard’s. He doesn’t do filled Malasadas. We noticed Mokes Cafe was being renovated and we had Zippys lunch in Kailua , oh man that crunch on their fried chicken was something 😋 We had Kasian Kreactions , Cajun Shrimp these were the biggest shrimp we had compared to Giovanni’s and Jenny’s Shrimp truck. Throughly enjoyed all of them. Jenny’s we enjoyed the most. I could of easily just had 4 scoops of her rice with the garlic sauce and a few shrimp on top, How ever they do their rice with the garlic sauce was crazy addictive ! Cheers Rod 🤙

I'm so glad you enjoyed your vacation here on Oahu, Rod! All of your visits were great! Agnes Malasadas is definitely an old school institution right along Leonard's and Kam Bakery for sure! I love Zippy's even though the prices are crazy compared to the past. I've had Vietnamese coffee many times and enjoy it very much, but never from CreamPot. More from hole in the walls and in Vietnam. I will have to try Jenny's one day! Glad you guys got home safely! Have a wonderful week!

Ohhhhhh wow that is so cool to learn Yi Xin has the same owners as Sing Ma Tei! I tend to crave and go to Sing Ma Tei several times a month to eat the laksa and have wanted to ask them if they would ever open a stand alone restaurant. Cool that that they did! And yeah, those red strips on the wings were chili peppers 🥵. In japan they top many spicy types of ramen with it, gives that heat and a very attractive addition to the presentation. Lol @ the Uncle Roger rating on the fried rice...instead of 5 stars it was “Fuiyohhhhh!!” awesome 🤣👌!!

Oh sista looks so Ono. Love shrimp paste, those wings omg, looks so good. Fried rice looked very moist, not dry. Green beans look very fresh. Have to try when we get back home. Keep it up sis. Great videos. Bless you and your Son & family 🙏

Gonna be in Oahu for 3 weeks in June to celebrate my birthday and this is one spot I’ve been looking forward to. I’m a big fan of SingMaTei too so I have high hopes. Gonna eat at so many places you’ve been to. Thanks Misty 🤙🏽🤙🏽

@@FoodFiend i think you would like it. It is reminecent of italian spaghettii with asian flavors of chinese five spice and anise in the background. Not sweet like filipino spaghetti at all.

I would love this place. Everything looks so ono. The ice bear was such a cutie. Would you say the flavors of the foods is more complex than regular Chinese food flavor with the Malay Singaporean influence?

Yes I think the use of fish sauce made it taste more complex. I could taste that or shrimp paste but some kind of patis flavor. But at the same time they are similar flavors to what people who like Chinese food would enjoy.

Yes, I think you girls will love the flavors! Just an explosion of flavors everywhere, especially in that Thai Pork Cheek sauce that was given. So good! You'll definitely enjoy and I can't wait to hear what you think!

Hi Misty!! We have this place on our list to visit. We saw Authentically Charles visit it since he’s such a huge SingMaTei fan. You solidified that we absolutely have to go!! Everything looked delicious. The pork cheeks looked so tender and juicy. The little frozen bear is so cute. Loved that you showcased a variety of dishes so there’s so many options to pick from. Hi Michelle & Jose! Yes he was right and it is super delicious! The pork cheeks were yummy and even though the sauce looks scary it is not spicy. Most things were very umami and not spicy at all so you'd love it Michelle. Have a great Memorial Day as well and you guys take care. 🤙

Your dishes looked on point. Oh yum -they have salted egg yolk fried chicken wings. Try Singaporean laksa if it's on the menu, I think you'd enjoy that. Thx for highlighting this place, nice that they're expanding.

That looks amazing, Misty! The red thready things look like a type of saffron spice. Your iced tea with the bear looks cute and refreshing! Also the pork cheeks, wow-- pretty much everything looked great. It's always a good time checking out your videos. Aloha Misty: I hope your long weekend will be joyous one spent with your family and friends. This was a nice review of Yi Xin Cafe. Looks like they did a great job of presenting Hong Kong-fusion comfort food with a Malaysian/Singaporean flair. The hom-ha flavored chicken mid-joints must have been really awesome, after hearing your description of the taste - Yi Xin’s chef must have fused some great hom-ha sauce into the chicken-wing order The fried rice must have been super delicious, if they were able to get obtain some toasted rice during the preparation of the dish - very high heat of the wok and skill of the chef. A nice iced filled glass of sangria would have gone well with the dishes you dined on. Looking forward to your next great find soon!
