Incredibly gifted with very refined musicianship. Only 16 years old ! Tony Yang has a fantastic future ahead of him. Bravo !!!

Tonight I watched the interview of Yike (Tony) Yang and know he was the Chopin Piano Competition's youngest ever laureate. Awesome!

I like his attitude a lot. He did not got good result earlier this year in the Cliburn Junior competition and that apparently did not affect him too much. When the award goes to him this time, he is still the same young kid who just enjoying making music, win or lose.

I feel really grateful to Conductor and wonderful Orchestra to play same concerto over and over , especially the conductor had to work hard until he get tired, he is great and looking good in every engle , than you so much let us to watch this wonderful great piano competition , I enjoyed very much .

This young artist is one well worth watching, indeed. A nearly flawless performance. If there were issues in this concerto, it was the instrument I think. It just did not give what the performer asked for, and the result was, while still outstanding, limited. Watch him closely, he's headed for the stars.

It is really hard to tell who play better or not , all competitors are play this concerto beautifully , Yang has nice sensitive touch and delicate tones and dynamic sound , sorry for did not get 1st prize but he has lot potential to win big prize in the future , keep on practice , practice !!!!

Just gonna point out he's the youngest prizewinner ever (he came in 5th!)

*Ten* costly seconds that had Tony Yang relegated from Third to Fifth place: 34:51 - 34:56 + 36:28 - 36:33. A shame really as we all know he's going to be an artist to reckon with for the rest of our lives...

I watched it live and I'm watching most of the final and third stage 3 times now some are 4th or 5th time. As I comment on Tony's Sonata in B flat of 3rd stage, very impressive for a world class and very young talent. I don't care much for rating if one is young or older in a competition. You need to show you are better. I like the spirit and the confidence of Tony but the technique and experience are not up to his spiritoso. I don't see the complete conveyor of the nostalgic and sentimental that Chopin intended. If He can carries half load of the lonesome from Aimi playing into this piece it will be very much better. Excitement and anger in Chopin are smaller parts of the picture. I hope Tony will come back in 2020.
