I think it started with Lil Peeps overdose, after that he became a legend and he went from few million to 100s of millions views. Shortly after XXXtentacion was set up by his record label right before he tried to leave Universal. Killed with some random robbery. They prob made millions off that right before he could leave his record deal to sign another deal. Now this. I think it's a sick marketing technique and the pattern is becoming more frequent with rappers and the media.
