Loved the use of the Calendar theme for the YTV startup!

The transmitter info/nod to IBA would have been mentioned in the quieter moment of the music around 0:52, at least as I remember it. But, I do have to say a decent mock, I'm sure Redvers Kyle, Jon Crosse, etc., would have been proud to have been making the start up announcement to this.

Hi SM_UK. I was a very 'naughty lad' in placing the announcement at the beginning. Your comment mentioning the great YTV announcers is praise indeed. I'm glad you liked the video. All the best, Nigel.

It seems that Yorkshire took a more chill approach during the 80’s. Just one problem, What’s it called?

Hi. According to some sources, it is called the 'Yorkshire Theme' or the 'New Yorkshire Theme'. Perhaps other viewers will be better informed? All the best, Nigel.

It was also the Calendar main theme in a edited version at the time as well.

Apparently it was called “ New Yorkshire Theme” composed by the late ( died in March this year) Christopher Gunning whom also composed the theme to Hercule Poirot series ( made by London Weekend Television) with David Suchet.

I'd like to try using this theme in my livestreams with my own station ID.

Really love your recordings of intros... they are honestly amazing and appreciate them very much... but not the added vocal ident sorry. Also this ID is not in the correct place in the sequence

Hi Philip. I'm thrilled that you like the musical content concerning the start-up sequences, as this is what this channel is all about. I do not always do vocal intros, but sometimes I find it necessary if an IBA slide leads into a picture or video. I recorded the YTV 1982 vocal and put it in its present place so as not to interfere with the music. Hope that you don't mind too much. All the best, Nigel.
