Yosemite, California. Not just a great valley, but a shrine to human foresight, the strength of granite, the power of glaciers, the persistence of life, and the tranquility of the High Sierra.
First protected in 1864, Yosemite National Park is best known for its waterfalls, but within its nearly 1,200 square miles, you can find deep valleys, grand meadows, ancient giant sequoias, a vast wilderness area, and much more.

Just One of California's many Natural Treasures.... Each more Beautiful then the last.... Yosemite is on the way to Lake Tahoe & Reno Nevada.... The times I've visited this treasure are too many to count over the 53 years I've lived in California...... Once I saw Nature's Beauty that was so plentiful in the American West I knew I could never live anywhere else for the rest of my life .... Bob

When my family goes, we stop at Tunnel Lookout. Walk out, as far as we can, wave at the main valley, and shout, "Hi Hunny I'm Home!" It makes leaving, that much harder to to. But. Being there, is SO VERY special...

STORY TIME: Back in '99 I visited this park with some friends on acid. One of the guys I was tripping with cried at the sight of old Faithful, which made me cry too. It was the most beautiful moment of my life. Even though I vomitted afterward, and even though I felt self conscious because I was crying and clearly everyone around me could tell I was on drugs I will never forget that moment. I highly recommend visiting at least once in your lifetime....this is truly an amazing place that you will never, EVER forget. Thank you for posting this video - I will cherish this as a reminder of days long gone.

Excellent not only for instance trees, which are able to make incredible stories about the circles of life, plus other times, which were not belongng to the most currently dangerous predator human ... I had in my hands the stone made by the tree, which had been over 75.000 years old, weight similar to the Olimpic competition of iron valleyball ...

The car man talked about my typing speed in "Yosemite National Park" and he said that I typed till 500 millions years.I said I typed somewhere above 60 WPM. I also said the name John Muir on the road saying that it was a tough time for me battling with the name John Muir where I struggled to type the name "John Muir and Sierra" fast. Yesterday I typed 59 WPM till "explore, climb." Yosemite National Park is located in the Sierra Nevada Mountains of central California, a setting so spectacular and awe-inspiring that John Muir, a naturalist and the Sierra Club founder, called it "a landscape ... that after all my wanderings still appears as the most beautiful I have ever beheld." Over millions of years, earthquakes, glaciers, and other forces of nature have left indelible footprints on this landscape, footprints that are still visible in the towering granite cliffs, thundering waterfalls, steep mountains, and deep alpine lakes, and they all beckon visitors to explore, climb, and experience their grandeur.

+Anvanho It's an aerial view of Yosemite. The Sierra Nevada mountain range can get very heavy snowfall. The passes through the mountains (Tioga and Sonora) close for much of every winter.

The Miwoks are not the original people of Yosemite. They were brought in as slaves. The original people are the Ahwahneechees who are the descendants of Chief Tenaya. There is a picture in the park of Chief Tenaya's Granddaughter who was named Maria Labrado - (Christian Name) her real name was Totuya. There is a book written about her called "The Last Survivor" by a woman named H.J. Taylor. This is the TRUE linage of my husband Albert Tenaya. Maria Labrado was his Great, Great Grandmother. Chief Tenaya was her Grandfather. My husband passed away August 2019 and was one of the 6th generation. He was a singer, song writer and musician of the flute and guitar who told stories of his ancestry, and then some ! We went to the Yosemite gift shop in 2007 to try to sell his music. He was denied of course... You however can listen to his flute music on KZfaq - "Living Water Flute Melodies". The following year, the documentarian "Ken Burns" contracted Albert to use 3 flute melodies from his first C.D. - Medicine Water" Flute Songs in the documentary called "The National Parks. America's Best Idea". We all know that nobody is going back to where they came from... But to be constantly denied the rights of your heritage roots goes beyond injustice... He was a magnanimous man LOVED by many. Lot's of fans !!! I promised my beautiful husband that I would continue to carry on his legacy... I got You Honey. I got You !!!

Thank goodness there was a John Muir to save Yosemite from the plundering avarice of men who just took what they could by hook or crook. Left unchecked, those greedy rascals would have chopped down every last sequoia. And you can be sure that Yosemite today would be one trashy amusement park run entirely for profit.
