With so much money he's making he can afford an entire time to draw it. Just write it. Tite Kubo when he quit he still wrote like 4 graphic novels.

Exactly. He doesn't even need to pay, publisher could provide a team for him. I don't know which, probably his pride or trust issues that stop him from doing that.

He starts to speak on this point at around 6:48. Although it might seem reasonable to us, the outside observer, it’s completely understandable that he would have issues on a personal level with putting the aspects of his work that he cherishes in someone else’s hands

@@mattsherack Isn't making your series reach its deserved end also a form of cherishing your work? For me, wanting to draw it myself isn't that strong of a reason when added by publicly spoiling one of the potential endings. It just scream pride in negative way. It's not like having a team means he stops drawing completely. He can sketch, and the team does the detailing.

This… is actually a GOATED video. I don’t often click on video that have “low views” (even though having people from different parts of the world deciding to click on a video is awesome). I never really understood the author’s hiatus problems, of course I knew it was because of back pain problems but I didn’t think it would be such a big problem (I know that’s very naive). But after watching this video from you and your personal experience, I know greatly understand why it would be hard for him to keep making this story. I just want to thank you for making this video, sharing some personal issues and being very professional. Overall, you’ve gained a loyal subscriber right here 😁

I wish more mangaka would insist on switching from weekly to monthly once they have established themselves like Araki did. Of course it wouldn't solve all health issues but can't hurt. Maintaining the grind of weekly publication over a long career is absurd.

Not all anime are based on manga. For example, Evangelion, Gurren Lagann, Madoka Magica, Gundam, Cowboy Bebop, etc did not have a manga in the first place.

I totally disagree. Successful mangakas have complete teams to assist them, for example, Togashi himself didn't draw the scenery details of the phantom troupe flashback volume, his assistants did. I've read somewhere that they even offered him to supervise while they draw everything and he refused, stating that he loves his characters so much he wouldn't let anyone else draw them.

…Manga is not pronounced that way. Also, not all anime’s are off of mangas plus mangas are usually off of light novels. Some anime’s are original with no manga or light novel. Usually they have mangas that come out after the release and the stories tend to differ a little.
