I'm really thankful for the video. I'm glad someone else knows how busted Yoshi truly is. So many unblockable setups. I see the potential, for certain. I wish more people understood.

He is a gimmicky character, you can knowledge check opponents to death but after a certain point you have to work hard to condition your opponents and be really unpredictable for the same stuff to work because he lacks plus frame moves and healso has many unsafe key moves that at some point you gonna have to throw out. Flash is also launch punishable at -15 on block and besides that if whiffs you have a million years to launch him. If you are consistently getting hit by flash you are either predictable yourself or spamming hard

Instead of down + forward 3 for the kick, I really recommend down + back 4 for some new guys, quick less punishable low. If youre more confident in your gameplay/reads, use the one shown in the video as good follow up vs just a poke.

Flash isn’t game breaking, some people would run with that lol Flash is a character defining move tool for Yoshi though. If you’re not leveraging it as a threat, you might as well choose a different character.

For some reason [3,4] into dragonfly during heat will allow u to throw out 4 or 1 faster than they can jab but the frame data says otherwise

Nice quick overview! Do you usually KIN d+1 as a low poke in neutral? I barely use it, maybe I'm missing out.

if you are confident in your opponent not throwing out sometihng to keep you out then you can go for kin stuff in neutral, but generally i don't like doing it in neutral cause its always kinda risky

Pretty sure yoshis already getting nerfed in the next update (not the may patch). They mentioned yoshi and a few others were going to be changed in a future update, and even as a yoshi player i feel he needs some nerfs

@@NxUrNuts ya I agree. As long as they balance other characters too. Yoshi without flash would really bring him down the tier list. That’s what makes him good besides unblockables.

I just reached shinryu for the first time and saw moves i didnt know Could you turn on move history? That hitting-with-the-pommel move after a flash, i didnt know of it and idk how to do it.

@@zackdoom the move list is stupidly scary for new players (this is my first fighting game) i THINK about looking at it and i get overwhelmed lol

@@bikewithwheels take it slowly some of the moves are super situational Look for low frame disadvantage and high advantage moves around on block at first Anything thats -10 and worse generally is unsafe -9 is safe If under pressure fastest high is 1 Fastest mid is df 4 (standing) or flash Yoshi is very difficult as a lot of his moves dont get used because there are better options but are goood to throw ppl off

@@bikewithwheelscombo practice will help you learn useful new moves and even use cases if you have a mind for how it will work mid fight. I recommend clearing all the combo training on a character and get to where you can consistently land them, this will help A lot in improvement. So will running punish practice over and over…

An idea I have for nerfing flash without removing its identity is to make it cost health to use like b3 and b4. That way, Yoshi gets extra punished for spamming it, but it's still strong.
