Remember when people were saying Ichiro’s hits from his days in Japan shouldn’t count bc Japanese pitchers aren’t good? Now they’re dominating the MLB and ppl r like “when did the Japanese get so good?” They were always good, the league just didn’t pay attention to them.

Pete Rose😏

@yuumetal2363 2 different people. If we're accounting ichiro's hits from npb, he has more hits, but we don't. Ichiro was consistently hitting north of 200 every season in the mlb for 10 straight seasons, and holds the record for the most hits in a season. I'm not downplaying Pete Rose if you're thinking so. I'm only letting you know some facts.
@yuumetal2363
@yuumetal2363 14 күн бұрын
@@MyLife-og2kr I know. The reason Ichiro got more hits in MLB than in NPB is simply because there are more games in MLB, which means that if Ichiro had come to MLB earlier, he would have gotten more hits than he did in NPB. Pete Rose likes to label Ichiro's hits in NPB as worthless, but on the contrary, it means that if Ichiro had come to the MLB earlier, he would have had even more hits. Pete Rose: “they’re trying to make me the Hit Queen. I’m not trying to take anything away from Ichiro, he’s had a Hall of Fame career, but the next thing you know, they’ll be counting his high-school hits.”

実力があるのにマイナーリーグにいる選手はいないがNPBにはいる。MLBの記録としてカウント出来ないのは理解出来るが、マイナーリーグ扱いすべきではない。

No matter how you slice it, Ichiro would be the all time hits leader if he had started his career in MLB. Period. And the competition that Ichiro faced was better than who Pete Rose faced.

Honestly, I was one of those. I just couldn't believe that he gave up so many hits in one inning. But after listening to pitching ninja, it made sense why and how he gave up so many runs.

Its not a stereotype...simply look at averages, is all one has to do and can see clearly that Japanese population is simply smaller than American population. Its not a negative issue, simply a factual one! Also, that's not to say ALL Japanese players are smaller, because there are many huge Japanese players that make others look tiny...like Ohtani & Fujinami. Imho, being shorter in height is an advantage in baseball & life in general, for many reasons! Btw, Japan's baseball is AWESOME & I love their fan atmosphere!💪😎👍

The match against the Cardinals.. wow, He did not flinch a bit after the ball came back to him at more than 100mph ! He did not dodge the ball but caught it. And afterwards, what did he do ? Just increased his Ks count with the same attitude. This is why I find him impressive.
