Kenneth Wapnick, Ph.D. reminds us that the ego’s purpose of the body is to keep us from knowing that we could be something “beyond this little pile of dust.” Jesus asks us to shift the purpose that the body serves, seeing it as a classroom and a vehicle to get us from where we believe we are (in the world of bodies) to the real world.
