I'm a Father of a 12 year old. I'm 69 years old. I can't tell you the emotion as I have to watch thinking. That he may even in a very short time will face this fine World he lives in today. I sometimes go on to communicate this to my only son. He surprises me by telling me you havento be happy now and I shouldn't worry. I hope he learns the right way. If you try to be happy, this means that you presume you are not happy now but you will be happy by trying, by putting faith in future. This point of view is doomed to fail. One can not try to be happy, just as one cannot try to be sad or angry. In order for someone to be happy, one, first of all, should not try to be happy. Then happiness may come. For me, happiness is absence of suffering. Suffering is the result of desiring. If one stops desiring, may happiness come.

I've been hearing about "the moment" for years. Not in dogmatic religions, but in philosophies outside of such constructs. Having had the experience of being in the moment, I know how beneficial it is. On many levels. The most prominent of which is the feeling of peace. I'm glad I came across these videos of Alan Watts, because he has reminded me of the importance and benefits of being in the moment. This video in particular really hits home because he honestly portrays how the world raises and treats its children. Across many cultures. This is one of those videos I will replay as it is something I need to hear on a regular basis. Working full time, it's easy to get caught up in the need to make money, pay bills, and clean house. Thank you to all the channels that have uploaded the talks by Alan Watts. I really appreciate your efforts.

I have lived life to the fullest, and then somehow I got caught into life as most people live it. I can tell that what most live is not life, is not good, is just a set of instructions that are followed until you die. Since most people never saw the other side, it must feel so dark and lonely. And I can honestly tell that it is, it is dark and lonely, and I am glad I had the oportunity to really live life

Just because someone doesn't have a piece of paper as a credential, doesn't mean that person is not entitled to share personal experiences with the hope & intention to inspire others. Keep up with whatever it is that you're doing to improve mankind or improving your life even to a slight degree each day. This is just one part of a bigger puzzle for creating my KZfaq channel about holistic health. I literally could have died back when I was 14 years old due to major depression but here I am right now replying to you, a KZfaqr, who's full of fulfillment and dedication to help others to be a better version of themselves. I totally get it, and I am so glad that I got to enjoy life to its fullest. It does gets kinda boring when you keep pushing it after your moment. Like staying in a movie theather after the movie has ended, just because someone told you that there is a possibility that another movie will play again. Honestly, I truly believe few had the opportunity that I lived through, and I am glad I enjoyed it to the maximum.

For a lot of people life is a con. We start off at the programming centre (school) where all individuality and creativity is knocked out of us, you are programmed to play your part as a cog in the big wheel of work, paying your taxes, never being quiet satisfied, you must get that bigger house and car, be glued on the road of consumerism etc and always looking for the next thing in order to feel that you have finally arrived. Eventually we reach the ‘golden years’, now is the time to enjoy ourselves. The problem is you may already be dead or now physically and mentally incapable of for-filling your dreams.

I quit a “normal” $150k job and never looked back. Make half now and have twice the time off but my time is more valuable then money. Also can work from anywhere. Three countries this year and three more next year and still in early 40s. Don’t wait until you are old and tired live your life now. I alway felt like the money was good but just numbers on a digital screen. Sure I could buy this or that but what I really wanted was freedom to come and go. I remember the day I went to the airport counter for my first international trip and the reservation lady asked me sorry sir problem with your ticket no return ticket? I told her don’t need one, not sure when I am coming back just will come back when I want, when I feel like it. Man I felt like chains fell off that day forward and I knew my time was more important then money. And everyday since that day I have lived the present not the future.

Life is a game. The day we are born we are being trained to play this game. We adhere to our parents' rules and follow-up with school rules. Schools are a minature version of governments where we learn to vote, praise the football team, and be totally loyal to the school, all the while hating other schools. The same applies with religion. And if we play this game well, we become a team leader, leading other players ( our children ) to advance in the game so their children can continue playing this game forever. And the beauty of it all, you will never win because the end is only new players.

There's a drinking game i used to play at university where you play the game but do not know the rules. Each time you make a mistake you must drink. The game is to work out the motion that other players are doing which is set by the leader to stop them drinking .This is in essence how real life works. Anything important you must discover yourself and it takes years for most people, very few find out the rules as children or young adults. Bu the time you discover life is a game you could literally be about to die or have missed 50 years of life.
