This human-interest series took requests from television viewers who wanted to see various things on the show, such as celebrity appearances, carnival acts, exotic animals, or log-rolling contests.
It first aired live on the DuMont Network from 1950-51, and was originally titled "The Art Baker Show", after the show's host. The program moved to ABC in 1952 and ran until 1959.
Revivals of the show appeared in syndication in 1972 and 1981. The Family Channel (today's "Freeform") aired a version called "You Asked For It Again" from 1991-92. A short-lived version also aired on NBC in 2000.
In this DuMont-era episode, a diver wrestles with an octopus, lost relatives are reunited, and movie special effects secrets are revealed. Original commercials were included.
