Carbs are friends, not foe ❤️👏 Adding them in strategically to each meal is a suuuuuper important first step towards eating with no food rules. It actually helps your body heal the damage that dieting has done and to help strengthen your hunger & fullness cues. This part of something I call "biological reconditioning" and is the very first step towards learning to eat intuitively! Link below to snag a full 1 week plan to help you do it (and it will help ya avoid intuitive eating turning into one big binge fest!)

Okay your videos have really changed my perspective on life. I realized a couple weeks ago that I haven’t eaten without thinking about the calories or feeling guilty if I overeat or put “unhealthy” food in my body since I was FOURTEEN. Ive watched your videos in the past but brushed them off pretty quickly. I restarted watching your videos the beginning of last week and I told myself one night that I would give myself a day to just eat. Not a “cheat” day or a “last day before a diet” and eat everything I can sort of day. Just eat. And it was life changing. It’s been almost 2 weeks since I just let myself eat without analyzing it and I feel so much better. And I’m leaving this comment for anyone who might be watching, this voice that tries to keep you thinking about diets will definitely take time to go away if it ever does. It creeps in and I have to let myself just let the voice pass.

Different for everyone. I did 3 years straight of keto then dirty keto since then. I am alot more moody and agitated when I’m not on keto since I’m sensitive to day gluten and have hyperinsulinemia
@Martiniiiiiiiiii
@Martiniiiiiiiiii 7 ай бұрын
@@christianasmatson2075I have had the same experience. I guess as much inflammation as gluten causes the general population it does affect some of us more than others. Which is unfortunate because im one of the “others” but I also have an addiction to bread I have curve 😭 I would say it isn’t as bad as it was when I was in my younger eating sandwiches for every meal. I much prefer fats and proteins (keto) for steadier energy. I guess it’s also how you frame it and what your goal is when you start the diet. Cognitive reframing is definitely important in how a person experiences an experience. Someone that is also super addicted to carbs that goes into keto cold turkey is definitely going to have a bad time. Especially one that is going into it *just* for weight loss and not for the prolonged energy fats offer brain performance. Im guessing the mental benefits of Keto require a little more time. I’ve been on and off keto for about 8 years so I’m sensitive to it’s benefits and disadvantages when I’m not on it.

This is a little weird, but one thing that helps me with stress around eating is thinking about how my ancestors often struggled to find food. Like my ancestors probably ate some stuff we would never eat now, and some of them def ate tons of "unhealthy" foods like bread or sugar. But the fact that I'm here means it worked for them. So maybe all I need to do is eat what works for me, and that's enough

A friend of mine raised a good point. American children aren't expected to do real physical activity, to the point parents carry their things for them or even then when they've walked only a few minutes. This might be why Americans have more trouble processing carbs. Slower metabolism, don't need the energy when growing so.

Eating bread multiple times a day is fine before you get constipation 😭 oh god, i had to cut out bread out of my diet due to that and it was hell, since i love bread so much..I basically binge on toast bread because it’s so good to me, but since then I havs started eating bread again just in little amouts :(

I’m diabetic, I depend on carbs. (Yes, I watch it, but just to make sure I’m putting in accurate info so I dose correctly)

personally my only time I have a problem with "too much carbs" is if I find myself eating only carbs all day and neglecting other nutrients like proteins or fiber. Sandwiches or that toast sound great

It's not fatphobia to say carbs will make you gain weight. It's just a false statement

When I had gestational diabetes my dietician even asked me where the carbs were for a meal. (I didn't do it on purpose. It was a soup)

I wish so badly that carbs didn't cause me so much inflammation...I love them. I can only eat them in super small amounts otherwise I'm in crippling pain. I'm grateful they have so many low carb bread options... it's not as good but it sure does help!

My favorite response would be 'So what?' If I'm fat, I'm fat. I say this as a formerly underweight girl whose mother keeps making snide remarks. I feel so much more happier that i stop giving a damn. Skinniness isn't the be all end all. I worked hard and if I crave a sandwich I freaking earned it.

Personally I like bread but whenever I eat it more than a few times occasionally I get so bloated it makes my body feel bad the rest of the week. That’s why when I heard people in the netherlands basically inhales bread I was mindblown.

Completely agree… almost. Saying that comment was “fat phobic” doesn’t sit right with me. If your goal is to lose weight trying to do so to live a healthier life should NOT be considered fat phobia

She said it was fatphobic, correctly, because it was the insinuation that having weight on your body inherently means you're a flawed, ugly, or bad person. Not because it isn't true that carbs can cause weight gain, but because it's meant to be an insult to have weight.

I can second that I tried that crazy Atkins diet for 3 days and I got so sick from it and it also gave me an incredibly warped relationship with carbs that took me weeks to get over even though It was only a few days 😔

Yeah, if you're trying to lose weight the main thing is eat balanced meals and COUNT YOUR CALORIES. Cannot stress how important calories are in losing weight. You'd be surprised how much you CAN eat while sticking to a 2000 calories a day diet. Don't cut out food groups and it's OK to have a treat one in a while. Don't completely cut out unhealthy things, just eat them in moderation.

As a very petite person for most of my life, I don't pay attention to ANY food rules! I walk a lot & do what feels right for my body. Actually the only time my weight fluctuates is when I do try paying more attention!🤷‍♀️
