I fell for the my car needs gas scam on vacation once. I knew it was a scam when the same guy approached me the next day at the same place with the same exact story. When I angrily said he pulled that yesterday, he proceeded to rip off his shirt and show me surgical staples going down his abdomen yelling he was a sick man.

The sad truth is how realistic this sketch is. It’s one thing if you deal with these con during the day, but at night, if you’re caught, DO NOT stop to chat. You continue and/or speed up your action whether that’s going into your car or entering a facility. The ones at night likely has a crew waiting for you if you take them up on their scam backstory. If you didn’t know, now you know.

They just need to put more points in Volition. If you don't get that reference: In Disco Elysium you have an opportunity to beg a significant amount of money from a rich lady. To do so requires a Volition skill check. Literally you have to make yourself do it. The voice in your head berates you, telling you how filthy, smelly, and slovenly you look next to her, and you're about to ask for money. It's a good game, worth checking out.

They are extremely talented and yes, they produced so many high quality skits. However, their skits are all about exaggerated character traits and such, they follow the same rulebook every time. They are probably the best ever in this sector of comedy, but in the entire history of all of comedy? How do you even compare comedy like K&Ps to something like, let's say, Laurel & Hardy? Or Cheech & Chong?

Yes, it's hard to compare, but we actually can. I've seen a fair amount of L&H, I've seen a lot of C&C, and I've seen a lot of Little Britain, and a lot of K&P. I love film and comedy, and I can form an opinion. It's just mine. My age and where I grew up definitely influences this opinion. I used to go there on weekends and slowly read through a book by memorising which page I'd gotten to bc I couldn't afford to actually buy anything. This is really phenomenal acting. I have to say, people who do this I've encountered exhibit a skill on a level I find admirable - to think on the spot, and even just the ability to concoct a story or response to something that is actually coherent is very hard to do. I actually thought I had the greatest response to people coming up at gas station to ask for money, I would just first ask them if I could borrow some money and I just expected the person would say no, and then I could say if/when they asked, how could I help you out, give you some money if you wouldn't do same for me. Tables turned, game set match. I tried this once, and the guy didn't get fazed at all and said ya, of course and started to reach as if to get some money, and I was totally flustered and had no idea what to do or say next (and no, I did not think he was going to pull out a weapon), and I just admitted defeat and could only say, naw naw I'm not serious and asked if he needed any cash and gave him like $2 I had in my wallet as a sign of appreciation for his skill that crushed my supposed brilliant idea and he did it all in a totally friendly, non-annoying way I appreciated. Anyway, key and Peele did an excellent job of acting how smart and quickly these people think and act/talk. The "crescendoing in" was such a good touch.

There was a family with a sign with a cash app name on it and the kid was playing the violin for money so they could get a room or food or whatever.
