Colby Armstrong caught up with “Rod the bod” Brind’Amour to discuss if he’s in better shape than his players, what makes a good coach, and what the biggest adjustments were for him going from a player to a coach.

Love Roddy. He‘a by far my favorite Cane of all time. Incredibly hard worker. Super nice guy. I’ll never forget he came and watched one of our games, and talked to us after. Stopped and talked to literally every person individually, gave some pointers, hung out with us for way more time than we deserved as a nothing u-18 team.

Rod the bod is such a class act, always loved him as a player too!

Rod will go down as one of the best coaches in Canes history. He's already one of the greatest players, but man he's done so much on and off the ice for this team and this community. I'll be shocked if when it's all said and done he doesn't get into the HHOF

My favorite player ever. I wouldn't say I modeled my game after him but I just loved his style of play, dedication, work ethic and intensity. Total team player.

Rod Brind'Amour did such a great job as the main villain in Casino Royale. And no, you can't convince me otherwise that that was in fact not him.

Trading Rod Brind’Amour for Ron Sutter was one of the stupidest trades in the history of the NHL. Par for the course for St. Louis in the 90s

No way he still uses those Vapor XXX gloves and Synergy SE stick... Beauty!

Still can't believe the Flyers traded Rod away.... Just another post season where I'm cheering on teams with former Flyer greats. It's mostly a miserable life being a Philly sports fan.

When they traded him
@tommywallbanger Жыл бұрын
Sorry my phone keeps sending before I'm done typing. When they initially traded him the Philly news wasn't really saying much about it. I think they were all in shock. I couldn't believe they traded him but for his sake I'm glad they did because he would have never won the Stanley cup with the Flyers. I did like Keith primeau but I did not like seeing them trade my favorite player a way to get him.
@mongrelgolf7656 Жыл бұрын
Rumors are they traded Rod because Lindros was making moves on Rod's wife, so Rod told Flyers him or me. Flyers picked Lindros and that was the beginning of the end of the Flyers for the long term... Terrible decision. Rod had character, work ethic, health, loyalty and intelligence. Lindros had none of that when he was younger, he was a spoiled brat.
