Tired of all the fighting in his country, legendary Israeli commando Zohan (Adam Sandler) fakes his own death and goes to New York, where he can fulfill his fondest dream: to become a hairstylist. Canonic Law for the Catholic Church forbids Polygamy and the Holy Orthodox Churches of the East follow the Council of Nicaea/Edict of Thessaloniki in which Polygamy was forbidden. The confusion stems from the Old Testament, but believe me Polygamy (having multiple wives) is not possible in Christianity. Under Islam, if one was to take multiple wives, he must be able to care of them and their children that they will bear. Polygamy is normal for middle to upper class muslims in the Middle East, however it is not the norm. Most Muslims will only have 1 wife, maybe 2 at best. Not trying to debate you, just stating facts.

The reason Zohan is so beloved is that it is fundamentally good natured. The film is full of good will towards Jews and Arabs. It of course comes from a Jewish American perspective and that does slant certain aspects of tone, but it takes subject matter that could be really mean spirited and executes it flawlessly. I think films like this do more to give people a sympathetic view of Palestinians, Arabs, Jews, etc. than many give credit.

Yeah just because these guy maybe be born in the Middle East and Israel doesn’t mean they all hate each other. Also I think people are misleading saying the Jewish killed Jesus but was really the Romans, so basically they used the Jewish as escape goats. And I never tried Arab or Israeli food. What are they like anyway? Lastly we see enough bad stuff of both countries on the news, why not show the best of both countries? I swear the media needs a reality check.

White Knight tbf, The Dictator is just a satire of an Arab dictator and not necessarily on religion or the Arab-Israeli conflicts. Nowadays, there’s a lot of resistance by the locals there towards the dictators all over the Arab world from North Africa to the Levant.

Everyone's talking about the score of the pee pee touch, but no one is talking about the fact that this man had to dial like, 30 numbers to reach the Phantom, only to be able to text him a photo of Zohan moments later 😅 like wow. Gotta love Sandler comedies!
