I solved the "2 zero" issue on my 300 blkout by having a ACOG zeroed for supers and a piggybacked RMR zeroed for subs

I will never give up my EoTech 512s...Could upgrade to the XPS but these are still going strong a decade later.

Been using an old eotech 512 on my 300 blk sbr. Zeroed subs at the bottom of the circle dot reticle at 25 yards, supers hit roughly between the center dot and bottom of the circle. At 50 ish yards supers are hitting roughly on the center dot and subs roughly in the middle (about 6" low from the center dot). Figured that's good enough.

Piggy back offset 45 is definitely my preferred option. Esp for how fast it can be engaged vs reaching up and pushing a button AND it becomes a backup aim option. 2 is 1 , 1 is none (or in this case 1 is $4k)

Forget whatever I was doing when I opened KZfaq, Hop has another straight-to-the-point video out; we're doing that now.

Poor Idea: use Monstrum's forward magnifier for a second zero for supers, and zero your main optic for subs. The forward magnifier was intended for prism optics so it sits in front of the optic, but since it sits between the optic and target it shifts zero, so it itself must also be zeroed. Could run a 1x or 1.5x prism zero it for subs, then flip the 2x foward magnifier down and zero that combo for supers.

A guy at my local range went to put a new Eotech on his M4 and found the glass had a cracked look. It was a NOS unit and this was the first time being mounted. The next time we met he said it cost him a hundred dollars for repair and was still waiting for it to come back. He rents out machine guns and it was getting mounted on a law enforcement test gun.

I feel like these super expensive optics must be nice but way overkill for 99% of people simply due to diminishing returns. As long as it works fine is clear and is reliable that's what really matters and there's realistically only so much you can do before price balloons exponentially for minimal gains.

This is why I have an ACOG 4X with a 300 blackout sub and super bdc reticle! And it was only 1200!

I did that for $300. Put a Romeo 5 on and zeroed it for supers, Then added a $150 m-lock green laser and zeroed that for subs. I can see both through my Romeo or just leave the green dot off when shooting supers

The Eotech EXPS2-2 was sufficient for my needs with 300 BLK, but then the AEMS came along and was much lighter, so it sits on my Rattler and Eotech is sitting on the shelf.

When the romeo 9 was first announced I sent a friend a picture of my .300 pistol with 2 romeo 5s. I see I'm not the only one that thought of that😂

I’m running an lpvo along with a 45 degree reddot. I’m cqb 25 yards and in running subs so no need to be super precise and a 50 yard zero for super it works out great

I really like my meprolite true vision. I didn’t know lack of signature was a feature. The lone dot sure makes holdovers tough though.

Hey @Hoplopfheil - since you mentioned difficulties with the ammo inc., what has been your experience with other 300 BLK loads? Have you found any others that have been more reliable? I personally still find it a fun round to shoot and reload for. The subs end of costing about the same as supers, since the difference in cost of the heavier projo is offset by the far less powder use in the loads. Still more $$$ than good ole 5.56, but fun none-the-less. Thanks for the content as always, keep up the good work!

Stacking Romeo 5s is really the advice I tune in for.

I just had the top of the shroud on my EXPS 3-2 laser engraved with the graphic from the top of the old XPS 2-300 since it’s the same exact reticle, it’s just NV compatible and sitting on EOtech’s lower 1/3 QD mount instead of the absolute co-witness height of the XPS series. Top dot is zeroed for 50 yards with subs and (roughly) 100 yards with supers, while to bottom dot is 150 yards with subs and (roughly) 300 yards with supers. I chose to get a more or less perfect zero with subs because I shoot subs WAY more frequently than I do supers. The zero for supers usually gets me close enough that I can usually get decent hits with it at 300-ish depending on the specific load

I would recommend an 8T if you want that form factor red dot. It's like 1/4th the price or something.

I’ve had good luck with the Ammo Inc. Stealth 220 grain. 8.5 inch Mas Defense barrel, Riflespeed AGB, H2 buffer and YHM Resonator K on a Griffin Gate-lok mount. The bolt doesn’t always lock back on the last round though.

Alternatives: a super/sub BDC prism/LPVO from Primary Arms, a piggyback red dot zeroed for subs, a Sig Romeo 4T with your BDC data, or an EOTech with more than one dot zeroes for supers and sub data documented.

Get the SPUHR mount for two Aimpoint T2s.

I personally prefer the Trijicon MGRS. A large viewing window is nice, but in my experience this doesn’t really offer a real improvement over an EXPS3 or something like that. In my experience, two eyes open isn’t really possible without the viewing window size on the MGRS. Reliably anyway… It’s not even much heavier and you can make up for the added weight with a lighter platform like the PSA Jakl. I like the monolithic rail on that so I can place the MGRS all the way up front to counter muzzle rise too.

I use that stealth ammo inc same round in a bg defense barrel, cycles perfectly with sub and supers. I went through several barrels of different brands to find one that works without an adjustable gb. Just fyi some are out there.

Just a heads up. If you are in NV mode on the Romeo 4xt pro if you press and hold the plus or minus button it will switch back to your last set visible brightness setting you had it at.

I did this with an Elcan Specter and an RMR 5 years ago for half the price. And yes, I still have the Elcan.

I was able to accomplish similar capabilities of the Sig Romeo 9T w/ the following set up, optimized for 300 yards and in: Carbine: AB A10 Suppressor on a 9.5" BCM 300 Blackout w/ Rifle Speed adjustable gas block. This allows you to quickly adjust gas setting between subsonic and super sonic loadings, with reliable cycling. Optics: Vector Paragon 4X Prism(check out Focus Tripp's review) on a Bobro Engineering T2 style ultra low mount ---> 40 yard zero for supersonics, subsonics use hold overs in BDC reticle. I have a printed reticle with holdover for both. Holosun EPS Carry Piggy Backed on the integral red dot mount on top of the 4X prism --->zeroed -.25" @ 50 yards for super sonics, both super and subsonics are dead hold out to ~50 yards This optic set up is quick and intuitive. Also the piggy back red dot sits much lower than most piggy back red dot set ups. The red dot height is 2.5" from the top of the rail. Head is up right, using the piggy back red dot for close in shots. When you need more precision or longer shots, drop you head into a good cheek weld to get behind the excellent eye relief of the 4x prism. This set up is MUCH more compact, light weight, has better eye relief and is ~4x cheaper than the ACOG piggy back red dot combo.

Hear me out. Unity fast mount with the top dot zeroed for supers. HRF skiff with an RMR on it that you can see through the window meant for iron sights and zero that for subs

Spuhr make a mount that holds two aimpoint micro’s in line. Seems like the easiest solution to me lol. Just turn on the zero you want to use.

Uhh why not just paint pen witness your zero for both projectiles on whatever EOTECH or dot you use with different ink for each round? That’s what I do for 77SMK and 62 green tip. I have some SMK for bump in the night and long range precision. I have my 62 stacked deep for SHTF because it was cheap. That’s also what I do for my rmr on my g34. I have my 119 range competition zero and my 147 not today son zero marked. It works fine and costs 10 bucks in markers

A while back I saw someone selling lenses that would sit in front of your optic, and when flipped up, would adjust your zero. I'm waiting on those to come back so I cam run subs and sups in my .300 blk.
