Stuff needed: Deep Socket 8mm 7mm Hardtop mounting kit (from ECU contains everything you need) First, set the car to convertible mode (with the top down), then you take out the two screws holding in the trim piece with the deep socket 8mm, then, set the convertible top to open halfway to access the next step, then you unscrew the three bolts (with the 7mm) on top holding the trim piece, then you install the hardtop mounting kit as instructed enjoy your new hardtop

I was able to buy a very nice m3 vert a couple of weeks ago and found a matching silver grey hardtop about an hour from my house. Bought the hardtop installation kit from ECS tuning and installed using this video. Worked perfectly. Thank god for youtube and helpful contributors like ProjectBMW. Start to finish, this took me about 2 hours with interruptions. One thing I'll add...you'll know it worked if the back dome lights go on and off as they should when opening and closing doors. Great video, earned another subscriber...

Must be a European thing but both my E46 cabrio’s had these fitted as standard so just had to remove the pin location covers each side and fit the hardtop! 5 minute job...,
