When you grow up poor and early on decide you do not want to continue that life, it is not so hard to find an education, a job and regularly save a part of your income, regardless of situation. Define your goal accordingly, and you end up with a nest egg which will in later life grow faster than you will spend it. You will still life off earnings, so you end up with not more money than you could spend, but more than you will spend. It's a lifestyle, not a budget.

She’s in AZ, which is notoriously terrible at keeping up with child support. I honestly doubt her ex is paying anything to their child. I hope he is since he had a hand in creating their daughter (and hoping he had a say in whether or not he wanted to be a parent to begin with- then it turns into something else all together).

I disagree with Dave, she is simply scared which is more of a personality trait then a rational mindset. You can see here how she is unable to understand the simple logic behind paying the car today (a car which she pays interest on), instead of letting the money rot in a bank account which she earns nothing more with.

She’s been living at her parents. Things will be vastly different when she has more bills to pay even with the extra income. Is he just trying to be more personable with the person that makes less?

Thank you! My thoughts exactly. Sure she's technically a "single mom" but she had a ton of support. Rent, utilities, and possibly some baby sitting. Not knocking what she's done, she's doing great. Definitely took determination but Dave praising this like she will be about to double just as easily again is weird.

@@rc0334 True. Not in all cases. But child support and family law is something i wish Dave would touch on more in his videos. Understandably he's not a lawyer, he's a financial coach. However, there are plenty of guys and mothers for that matter who are at the whip of child support and with outrageous payments due to failed relationships and not just deadbeats. It plays a very big part in society believe it or not.
@rc0334
@rc0334 3 жыл бұрын
@@nymphetaminedisposed yep. If you are a stand up person and you make a good living then yes, your child support payment will be high. As it should be - children deserve to be well taken care of. It’s the price people pay for not making it work with their spouse and choosing to end their families. It’s too bad because it’s the children who ultimately are cheated and suffer. Not the person who has to make adjustments in his/her budget to pay child support.
