I would go Ted Williams (BOS), Billy Williams (CHC), Kirby Puckett (MIN), Tony Gwinn (SD), Mike Trout (LAA).

One of my idols growing up, not only had the smoothest swing in baseball history. He served his country in war, during his prime years. Being a fighter pilot, just unbelievable. Such a great American period.

I agree he's the greatest hitter. If people are going to call Muhammad Ali the greatest boxer with him dodging the draft and going to prison for three years, taking his best years from him and weakening him physically from which he'd never recover, then Ted Williams is certainly the greatest hitter being an ace fighter pilot in the Pacific in Japan and Korea, also missing the prime years of his career. Those 5 years would have been anywhere from 150-200+ HRs for his career, putting him in the elite 600/700 HR club.

Before watching this video. He also walked over 2000 times and only struck out 700. .482 on base%. And missed 3 years to the war.

Goat? Naw ... I mean, I fck with my Mexican-American Ted Venzor aka Ted Williams. But he wasn’t facing any competition. The racists weren’t allowing anyone else to ball in mlb, so seeing only Anglo pitching is not legit imo. Ted wasn’t playing against the best is what I’m saying, and that sucks for my Latino boy. I don’t count many ballers from the 1958 and below as all that fascinating. Kids? Modafcker you didn’t see him play either. Smh
