This scene brought a question to my head Lady briowood would break the world for love. Now that she renting space in someone’s head that is completely different then her in both upbringing and personality. What would happen if she finds herself a new muse. Would she do the same. Would she destroy the world for their love and to keep them safe, so they don’t end up like sylis. Dead and gone, with her just grasping at straws for her memory’s of them. I think she would. @TheCrimsonElite666 2 жыл бұрын
@@deathbykonami5487 I think Delilah will take over Laudna and battle with the rest of the party, and just for fun, here's my conclusion to Delilah if that happens. As she's lies defeated by Belle's Hells, she asserts that death is meaningless to her as she can resurrect herself again to start all over, and nothing can bring Laudna back. But then, a supernatural mist suddenly manifests around Laudna/Delilah, and she panics as shadowy hands shoot out of the mists to grab her. Delilah's evil actions combined with her resurrections within the Shadowfell have attracted the attention of a malevolent force greater than her, and she screams as she's dragged into the mists. Imogen leaps to save Laudna, but the shadowy hands were too quick and the mists dissipate, leaving Imogen to weep for her loss while Fresh Cut Grass comforts her pain. Delilah blacks out in the formless mists, and wakes up into what appears to be the De Rolo estate in Whitestone, but Sylas is nowhere to be seen. Could she have been dreaming all this time? She finds Sylas in a dimly lit ritual chamber but he only greets her presence with desperate coughs from his bed. She prays to a greater power for guidance, but her only answer was silence, and just as she gives up in despair, she finally gets an answer from an unknown entity offering to help her. Was Vecna offering his blasphemous aid once again? Although she could feel that something was amiss, she throws caution to the wind as she accepts, and Sylas feels the surge of something ominous. After a moment of silence, Sylas emerges quietly from his bed to face Delilah. She's overwhelmed with love to be reunited with her husband once again, but she can't help but feel that something has gone horribly wrong while he stares blankly without words. As she cautiously embraces him, a sharp pain overwhelms her, and blood pools beneath her feet, her love twists into confusion. Questions race inside her head, "Why? Don't you recognise me? Where did you go?" Her questions fall silent as loud footsteps echo from a creaking doorway. Oblivious to her bleeding, she runs into an empty hallway, and her search concludes to a nearby mirror. Delilah gasped in horror, it was Laudna staring back at her with bloodstained clothes, their hands met to the feeling of cold metal, leaving the surface painted with crimson. "What is this? Who am I? Where are you, Sylas?" Screams emerge from beyond the hollow estate, and Delilah gazes outside a window to a misty courtyard. Dashing towards the entrance, she is greeted with the sight of many pale writhing bodies, and from a distance with a trail of ichor, it was Sylas, mindlessly butchering anyone he came across. She screams his name, but her cries fall on dead ears as guards surround her to bring her back to safety. A few hours later, a servant informs her that Sylas was quelled by a band of adventurers, and as his eyes rolled back, Delilah's vengeful despair turned into ambition. No matter how many innocents have to suffer, no matter how little he recognises her new form, and no matter how many times he betrays her for an existence of butchery. She will always bring him back with the hopeless idea that one day, he will be at her side to rule as king and queen to a city of sacrifices. She remains oblivious to her status as a Darklord while remaining at the mercy of puppeteering by the Dark Powers of Ravenloft within her Domain of Dread.

Right, we the audience know this. The players know this. But their characters do not. All Imogen knows is that laudna said "let me see the stone, I won't break it.", then hands the stone back, broken. I'm paraphrasing, but it's not like some mystical light emmited from the stone or Imogen could hear inside laudnas head at the time. So, we will see how it plays out. But, like I said, first it was unbroken, now it's broken. It would be like finally getting your hands on a ps5, and your friend begs to hold it once. Then, when holding it, it breaks or falls. Sure it was an accident, but you would still be pissed off.

And travis and yasha didn't know each other that well. She was missing for long periods of time and it also hadn't been that much in-time game that had passed, probably around 6 months of a bit longer. On the other hand, laudna and imogen have already been together travelling for a bit over 2 years, and were each others only friend and only confidante. I mean, i think the whole first campaign must have been around 2 years to put things into perspective. We can't compare the two of them at all. I’m gonna get roasted so bad for this but I have to speak up. I really struggle to understand this moment. What you have is Imogen, who explicitly and unconditionally loves and adores Laudna, who has literally zero reason to distrust her about anything, witnessing something strange and out-of-character happen to her friend, and instead of asking her why she did it, Imogen immediately TURNS ON HER and, for some reason, believes without a shadow of a doubt that her friend has just stabbed her in the back. With NO CONTEXT and NO QUESTIONS ASKED? Imogen walks away, Laudna stays silent. And for 3 days Imogen punishes Laudna with the cold shoulder. Why? What for? Do they really expect us to believe that Imogen believes that Laudna just took the stone and broke it in front of her? That would be an incredibly cruel gesture, and Imogen’s response implies that she believes Laudna can and would willingly do something like that of her own volition. This moment unfortunately makes it canon that Imogen believes Laudna is capable of turning on her at any moment. It’s also hard for me to believe that Imogen would witness that and not have any follow up questions for almost three days. It all feels out-of-character. It makes me confused why people like this moment. Laura and Marisha are brilliant storytellers and terrific actors, but this moment feels so rough to me. EDIT: Not to mention that if Laudna had simply uttered the words “Delilah made me do it” the situation would have been resolved outright. Imogen is painfully aware of Delilah’s meddling, and she knows that Delilah loves to torture Laudna. But as this scene stands, it’s a pretty poignant betrayal of the characters Marisha and Laura have created. This choice characterizes Laudna as flimsy and weak, and it characterizes Imogen as rash, judgmental, and cruel. Which disappoints me, because that’s so totally not who they are!

Thinking about it, I think the stone is a power source that Delilah needs to power a device that basically can transfer her consciousness back into a clone body. At the same time, it somehow blocks Imogen from being possessed herself, as if Imogen is like Crit Role's Professor X and, given enough time and research, could transfer her consciousness to another body. AND, here's the kicker: Delilah's clone bodies? They are on Ruidis! Why? Because that's where both Delilah and Sylas were reconstituted after being disintegrated. Think about it: Sylas has been officially destroyed twice by sunlight. The third time, he got away. However, Delilah isn't undead -- not that we know of. Because she isn't undead, Laudna isn't a phylactery, as she IS undead. She was one of the victims that the Briarwoods hung in the Sun Tree in Whitestone. So the question becomes, why would Laudna be scared? It's because she's seen the same kind of stone already -- and knows that it's power can be used for soul transference. But the machine that is used for transferring a soul is on Ruidis, powerless, so Delilah wants Laudna to get the stone, in order to take it back to Ruidis and power the machine back up, so her soul can be transferred into another clone body. If I'm right, Delilah will destroy Laudna if she accomplishes this task. I've had the theory that Ruidis is an Age of Arcanum research laboratory complex -- and knowing this, I'm wondering if Imogen's mother was a test subject there, which is why she was being studied on Exandria. Basically, the whole thing sounds like a Betrayer God plan to create an army of super-soldiers that could take on the gods themselves and put up enough of a fight that the gods were defeated. And part of that plan was seeking out individuals that had some sought-after characteristic that could be used to unlock latent abilities and have those abilities manipulated, but to have control maintained, almost like the research Trent Ikithon was doing with Caleb, Astrid, and Eodwulf in Campaign 2.

I think she took it from Imogen knowing deep inside that what actually happened was a strong possibility that she did so to me indicates her arrogance in thinking she controlled the pact relationship when really it's Delilah who holds all the cards. Laudna has some serious bridge mending now and I suspect that Imogen will not let them share their mental bond for quite some time. Maybe I need more context but why would something not letting Laudna let go be her lying? She said she wouldn’t do anything without permission from Imogen and all she did was hold it as far as I can tell from this. It’s not like she could let go. She tried that. How is this betrayal or lying? I’m so confused.

it's as simple as her acting understandably irrational

I won't lie. This scene really took me out of it, but I'm really happy to see that most everyone else was able to enjoy it a ton!

Why?

@@Jhakaro The "you lied" really. I mean Imogen and Laudna know a lot about each other and the struggles they're going through, so it felt really weird to have Imogen not think for a second about any of that when that happened? But again, if only one scene out of this whole campaign has rubbed me the wrong way, that's still a good record. Especially if so many people did like the scene.

@@wverms Imogen had been affected by the gem at this point, she craved it, she was losing herself, whe Laudna did what she did, in Imogen's eye, Laudna betrayed her, only after the gem is gone Imogens mind is clear as of what happened
