Despite the nature of the setting being fairly railroaded and the ever pervasive cuck lore that Mercer feels the need to put into every aspect of the story, this was an amazing series. This makes me think there needs to be a Metamagic technique called something like "Focused Spell" that takes an AOE spell, focuses it into a single target, and jacks up the damage like you wouldn't believe. Oh, you want to cast Fireball that does 8d6 or whatever fire damage? Well I'm gonna cast Focused Fireball, hitting one person, and dealing 32d6 fire damage. I'd also like to see a spell called Reflect or something, a kind of riff on Counterspell that doesn't just dissipate the spell, but reflects it, targeting the caster of the spell. That would be rad as hell.
