I’m all about these modern vintage watches. I picked up a 32mm Praesidus and absolutely love it. This Forstner looks fantastic as well. Great overview!

Me, I'd go for a Serica 4512 if it was up to a bonklip field watch. Mine has been my only watch for a year and a half and has been performing beautifully.

Sure, the serica looks better... but a locking crown with a handwind only, with such a short power reserve? It doesn't make sense. You can try to tell me it's about your relationship with time, and that there's something ritualistic to winding it every morning, but the water resistance will be compromised a lot more quickly having to lock/unlock that crown every day. I've also heard the Forstner bonklip is better designed and stays clipped better. Forestner nailed this. And also - they have far superior customer service.

Was curious where you recommend selling a Rolex 124270 brand new, never used. For some reason, I just don’t like it. I thought it would be my grail watch, but the clasp annoys me. After having the Tudor T clasp and it being adjustable, I can’t wear anything without one.

was the iwc and jlc as thick as the forstner?
@HarrisonElmore
@HarrisonElmore Жыл бұрын
Original IWC Mark 11's were about 11mm thick. JLC was 12.6mm thick, so the same as the Forstner. Benefit is another 50M of WR from 50M in the original to 100M. But you're right it is fatter.

You mention "early 20th century" twice, but you really mean the mid to latter half of the 20th century, as your pictures of JFK, MLK, Ali etc. underscore.

Hi Harrison, you want to consider the Smiths PRS48 by Timefactors. IMHO arguably the best modern rendition of the Mk11 sans the Forstner Band. It comes with a "Top" Sellita and a Faraday cage (for added magnetic protection)

Impossible to get and even if he did his audience wouldn’t be able to buy one. I love my PRS from timefacters but they have the worst customer service of any watch I’v ever bought.
@tonyvera-cruz6422
@tonyvera-cruz6422 Жыл бұрын
@turnbasedtoddy7664 Well I couldn't object to your gripes. However, having spoken to Eddie at Timefactors, I understand the limitations of its customer service capabilities. I've had a better than 50% success rate in acquiring some Timefactors watches with preparation and perseverance. Nonetheless, if you're fortunate to get one, there's no denying the detail that's been put into the PRS48 having seen it next to a vintage IWC Mk11 (not the JLC Mk11). I wish you well in your journey.

Why do you wear your wedding ring for these videos? Saying you wear it "all the time" isn't a valid reason either. It kinda makes your videos unwatchable for me even though you have some really good content. Wearing a wedding ring in a KZfaq video comes across as too try-hard for me.

If I was a KZfaq creator and I was doing something that was causing my regular viewers to stop watching my videos I would appreciate if they told me about it in the COMMENTS section.
