When I was sick with COVID and in bed for 3 weeks my cat did not leave my side except to eat or go to the bathroom. She stayed right beside my head. She kept sniffing my face to make sure I was ok. I will never forget how loving she was. ♥️♥️

I hope your cat didn't get Covid too? Sorry didn't mean to offend, just be horrid too for little furry baby to suffer. I have had Covid twice due to my job in healthcare, first time I was so bad with breathing probs, so hate to think what the nasty virus would do to a tiny body. Hope you have fully recovered from the nasty illness.

I am, and have always been a dog person. 17 years ago I got sick of coming home to an empty house, but knew that with my work often forcing me to be away from home for 18-20 hours at a time, or even overnights/weekends, I could not justify getting a dog, since my neighborhood didn't allow outdoor kennels or underground fences. I decided to adopt a 4 year old black cat at the local shelter. Best decision ever. for the last 17 years my little furball buddy has always been there to comfort me and reduce my daytime stress. He is still going strong at nearly 21 years old, and he was joined by another black cat "younger brother" 6 years ago. I can't imagine going thru the pandemic without them, when I went weeks at a time without human contact in person. In fact while I'm sitting here at my home office desk, the younger one is sitting right next to me on his favorite spot on the desk.

Having a cat is just right for me. Before Sylvester I had a dog that I adopted. Walking him was a huge Hassel, especially when the neighbors insist that you walk it in the middle of the street! One day I had to get ready to go-to a family reunion. My sister, nephew and neice refused to look after him while I would be away. The dog eventually ran away from a Vet that my father's friend recommended.He was never seen again. I eventually decided to get a cat who never gave me the amount of big trouble that dog gave me. At the time adopted him the Attendent at the shelter told me that Cats are better than most Humans. She was right. No more dog for me.

A dog-cat combo will no doubt enhance your lives in ways you never imagine. Used to be a dog only guy but during the pandemic two stray cats came to my place and helped me thru the most difficult times. They're officially mine now. It's a blessing. My dog enjoys them as well.

Cats are just so loving. I have had quite a few. I love them all and they were all different. So sad to say good bye as they got older. Always got another, now I have two. They are both very very loving. One was shaking when I got him from a shelter. He would not come out of the lucite cage for three months while he was at the shelter. He was terrified when he came to me. He hid in my bathtub shaking so hard. I was so upset to see him like that. I bought a kitty enclosure which had mesh windows and a mesh top. He could see out and it zipped close. He had his litter pan and water/food and toys in there. He seemed to hide . I cleaned it daily. After three months he wanted to come out to explore. We had to get the enclosure because he hid in places we could not find him and it was dangerous for him. He finally stayed out and is a loving cat but still very frightened by sounds.

I was so lucky to find a hubby that is a true animal lover. We call them our babies. We have two pups , two cats and two parrots. And I feed the deer, squirrels and birds outside. The deer look in our window to let us know they want some carrots and apples 🍎

I’ve had many animals, starting at 2 years old through today at 70, mostly cats but also 5 -7 horses, several dogs and rabbits. Each and every one of them was/ is an individual, with their own personalities, quirks, preferences, behaviors, etc. Just like people, because people are animals and animals are people to coin a phrase. We share so much, including the capacity to love one another. My beautiful horses would come running when they saw me, and we’d have a nuzzle fest. My cats are the same as were of course the dogs and even the rabbits. This is why I haven’t eaten a mammal in 53 years and no birds in about 40 years. We are too much the same and I can’t stand causing pain to my brethren. The factory farms that produce the meat and milk are a mass of horrors and cruelty, and I want no part of any of it! I wish more people would join me in boycotting the cruel meat and dairy industries so we can reduce animal suffering. Each one of those enslaved animal individuals’ lives matter.

After I had been watching a lot of cat videos online I had done a lot of thinking about getting a cat and then one day this beautiful yellow eyed adult cat just showed up and he was so sweet and loving and he adopted me and he's an outside cat but I take care of him and feed him and he comes running to me when I go outside ❤

I currently have a cat who is a nutcase sometimes 😂 if me or my grandad or just someone in general goes out he becomes attached and will wrap his paw/s around our arm and softly bite out hand to stop us from leaving and just be very attached and starts panicking if you go out a door 😂🥺

It took me a long time to realize that CATS ARE NOT DOGS! Once I understood that, I began to let them come to me on their own terms. When cats begin to trust you, they are the most wonderful creatures that God put upon this green earth. I had an orange eyed female ginger tabby who was there for me before I went to work and came right to the door when i got home. My ex girlfriend bought a grey and white female tabby. I carried her home in the carrier and walked her inside. In time she gravitated towards me, and my ex always said "Quit stealing my cat! I bought her!" to which I would say, "you bought her, but who carried her home? The cat has a long memory and remembers that I carried her home."

My cat likes to lay on my lap facing away from me. When I stop petting her she always looks over her shoulder at me. The most affectionate she gets is just laying on my chest when I'm in bed. That's all I get from her, but in her own way she does love her dad

My cat is the same - always faces away from me and I can't get him to sit on my lap in any other position. Sleeps at my hip, but doesn't nuzzle my face & neck. Our cats show affection, they're just not cuddlers.

And THAT is why I love cats. Dogs (for the most part) you come across will love you & every other Joe the same. Cats are very individual & unique - such personality! My 2 I have now aren't head butters but they are definitely 'biscuit makers'. My last guy was such a head butter that sometimes he'd clack my teeth together! But not much of a kneader. They show their affection, just individually. Maybe not the best pet for real young children because of how much they sleep but amazing friends & definitely show unconditional love!! Feline love for me 🐈

I've always said that cats are like mirrors, you get back exactly what you put in. If you treat them with love and respect they will treat you the same, if you can't be bothered with them they will remain aloof or go in search of another home. With dogs, pretty much all you have to do is own them and they'll be faithful forever. Absolutely tears your heart out when you lose one.

My mom names cats after 80s pop stars. She named one Prince and one MJ. MJ would climb up on to her lap and try to get up on her shoulders and wrap himself around her neck, he always wanted to just be as close to her as possible. He grew up on the street and was clearly somewhat traumatised by his life out in the street, but he loved her fiercely. We think that maybe she was the first person to ever really show him love and tenderness. He would still go out daily, he loved outside and couldn't stand being kept inside all day, but every evening my mom would stand at her front door and call his name, and he would come running from god knows where and trot happily inside straight to the kitchen, where he slept at night. He was the first cat that she had had since she was a kid, and she was devastated when he died. If she gets another one reckon she might name him Freddie 😂😂😂😂

@@TooLittleInfo I name my cats after royalty Diana, Anastasia, Victoria, Gabriella, Grace, Sophia and Voilet. I keep my cats indoors and they live like royalty, so far no male cats. I already have a couple of names in mind for my next 2 kitties. Charlotte and Catherine. We're currently without a cat. Our precious Sophia passed away at 20 years and 9 months old. Because of the pandemic we haven't been able to travel but now we are so we'll get our kitties in the fall. 😻

This brings back memories of my cat lucky, found him outside a CVS in some bushes crying when it was raining, he was about 3-4 weeks, guess his mom forgot about him, took him in, best decision I ever did, he was my best companion, he was an outdoor / indoor cat, he disappeared for a few days came back with a busted tail and limping, took him to the vet they had to do surgery on him, he recovered in a few months and was his old self again until about 10 months ago he wandered off & never came back, i posted a reward if anyone saw him, no one responded, he would've been 13 years old last month 😔

Coming from someone who has fostered multitudes of cats and kittens...we should Never keep cTs and kitties outside. Make your house a wonderful place for your kitty fur babies never want to go outside without a harness and leash. Too many people are evil and will do harm to our sweet feline or canine fur babies and we must love and protect them. They are our angels 💖

My wife & I took in a stray on 9-2-22 that was literally starving to death according to the vet. We never EVER let her cute furry self outside EVER again. And she is now healthy happy and her cute loveable personality has finally come out. She's our lil angel; wouldn't trade her for anything. This was meant to be.

I love dogs. I really do. But they're just so easy. They basically THROW themselves at you. But cats....if a cat shows you love & affection..you KNOW you have EARNED it.

We take in newborn abandoned kittens and foster them , raise them on bottles, until they are approximately 3 months old and then they are put up for adoption at big events at pet stores. We have 2 cats of our own also. But I love to watch videos showing the love that cats display for their owners. Their is nothing more precious. I used to be strictly a dog person, until I found an abandoned newborn kitten by our house and we took her in and raised her. That started my interest in foster care for kittens and made me a life long lover of kittens and cats too. There is nothing sweeter than the way they show love and affection to people they love.
