I feel off the wagon after losing about 35lbs in 2019 after a depressing desk job (I left for an active trade 🙂). When I lost the weight, I was so proud of myself, but gained it back gradually over the last year and a half. I found it really hard to cut out sugar because it really is that addictive. I was already majority carb-free, and thought the things I was eating were fine because they were carb free- nope! I started whole food only meals the last week and a half, and my joints are better, my brain is better, my inflation is better...everything is better after only 2 weeks of phasing out sugar. Even my FUPA (fat upper public area 😅) line is receding. I would always beat myself up for not exercising to lose weight, but my joints and energy were in such poor shape that I couldn't even get on the elliptical. I'm only 35 years old and not even THAT overweight (180lbs) but the sugar destroyed my body and mind to the point I couldn't even figure out how to exercise without my knees screaming at me on a low-impact elliptical. 2 weeks is all it took to get on track Throw that rubbish away man- sugar is poison.

I have been off sugar and on Keto for the last few months but just today I thought I would 'treat' myself with a slice of gluten/dairy free cheesecake. I felt really sick and gross afterwards and for several hours... I regretted it obviously and wonder how I ate this kind of thing for so long. Lesson learned...

@@MaTtRoSiTy I understand. I've had similar experiences. What I've found is that natural sugars, like honey, in moderation, along with high quality raw dairy can make great desserts that do not make one feel at all bad after having them. Note: these desserts are rarely had, and are eaten when one is in good physical shape and getting plenty of exercise. I personally recommend homemade ice cream to fill the desire for a dessert, if you have one. Key to any food, sweet or otherwise is using 100% natural ingredients and 0% industrialized processed anything.

I’ve been eating a PP approved diet for about two weeks now, and when he mentioned the age spots, I looked down at the backs of my hands, where I always see the clusters of brown patches, and realized they’re all gone! I’m blown away! I can’t find a single spot on the back of my hands. Normally they’re covered in age spots. So I guess the term age spots is a damn misnomer. It’s sugar spots!

I am 90 years old and have always eaten sensibly (everything in moderation my mother told me) . I have always eaten sugar but my wife and I try to eat fresh food and still cooks a "meat and two veg" supper. We avoid processed foodstuffs, never eat in the big M, drink some alcohol like wine at meals. My motto is "never put anything in my mouth with no food value". I haven't eaten sugar or any added natural sweetener (honey, agave, etc) in 11 years. I do not miss it. I do not crave it. I never had a sweet tooth, but I decided to eliminate it completely, along with ALL starches and grains. And about three years ago I stopped eating even the little bit of fruit (grapefruits) I ate. People are always commenting on my beautiful skin. I don't believe in "cheat days". Cheat days are just admitting to yourself that you still desire the stuff, are denying yourself by not having the stuff, and are rewarding yourself by giving in to the craving. You are never going to end that craving if you give in to it, even one day.

@@lilacDaisy111 starch is glucose, which is sugar, and as he says is higher on the glycemic index. Look at total carb, grams, serving size. All carbs are broken down by the liver to use as sugars for metabolic energy... So 'sugar' is chemically glucose combined with fructose, which is sucrose...

@@l.sophia2803 Only fructose (not glucose) acts like alcohol on the liver, creating fatty liver disease. And the title didn't say "You'll never eat carbs again..." @l.sophia2803
@l.sophia2803 2 жыл бұрын
@@lilacDaisy111 not sure I get the first point because yes fructose is harder on the Liver for a number of reasons, but the sugars are what raise insulin which creates the metabolic dysfunction over time and abuse, eg outside the scope of our ancient biochemistry. There is an interesting’diet’ plan I saw years ago, where everyone used a constant glucose monitor. The results were astonishing and against all common beliefs. For example when someone ate rice their blood sugars sky rocketed, but they could eat ice cream and there would be barely a blip. Then another person could have the exact opposite reaction to the same foods! We seem to have a more real-time adaptation to foods than anyone is accounting for at a medical level, like Dr G., which I don’t understand. It may be food intolerances or genetic responses or auto immune early stages. All I know is the ‘science’ they are so sure of is more complex and may be more individualized than we imagine today. It’s a constantly moving target! Good luck to you and everyone !😎
