My mom and brother play in a southern gospel group! My brother is also a preacher. We go every year to a church in GA for a watch night service where we pray and sing and preach in the new year! This year we seen a precious little boy accept Jesus as his Lord and Savior it was such a powerful blessing to watch. Such a beautiful way to bring in the new year!!!

Evan is the greatest...can I get an amen? His patience, his positive attitude, his character...what a great great guy.

We leave the Christmas decorations up for a week or so after the New Year. Watching Layla & Zade enjoying their Christmas, is such a joy! Thank you for sharing.

Y'all need another long leather sofa 🛋 in your living space as many family members as you have.Have you guys thought about putting 4-6 barstools at your counter since you only have a small table for 4? Since Trav & Katie plus Hailey visit and stay with y'all often...and Carlin has so many family members that visit...I'm just seeing so much "BLANK SPACE" where you could double your seating with another leather sofa and barstools for your counter.

I have always loved the time after Christmas too. I never take my tree down until after new years. I just enjoy the time with the kids playing with their new toys. I always get a new family game to play. According to the age of the children each year. And when we take the tree down there is always a small little surprise hanging on it. The kids are a little less sad about it it.

We put our real trees out in our yard with homemade bird treats. Like real pine cones with peanut butter on them then rolled in bird seed. We load our tree up keep adding treats for the birds until the first of April. Makes it fun for children to watch out of our kitchen window for different birds. They learn what type of birds we have. You could sat it on your patio. For the kids to look out your patio door.

I agree about cleaning to start fresh.

The way you described the last 4 years feels very similar to mine, minus the getting married and kids part since I'm still single. Plus its involved more heartbreak leading to me having PTSD than joyful moments. This year has been the best year for me which I'm really grateful for.
