I like the expanded rules for falling, sleep, etc. too, and the Tool Proficiency sections, as well as the traps and downtime sections. Nice stuff there. Name lists are a great resource too.

Thanks Coach Key! Love your videos, the duration, your voice, and the care you take in choosing highlights. I use Xanathar’s pages 72, 73, 62, and 175 to build characters and the PH to finish them. Super appreciative of 5e, the rules expansion is just one three-volume set; the first two editions were all over the place.

Thank you so much for an awesome compliment & taking time to support the channel 😃!!! I like Xanathar. I use it more as a player at the moment. I was attempting to learn all the PHB rules then look more in the rules expansion in Xanathar and Tasha’s so lol I wouldn’t overwhelm myself too much. I plan on running some Adventure Leagues games at a Convention in GA call MoMoCon in May so I’ve been trying to learn the PHB rules better.

Great review for XGTE! 🥰 I consider it to be a "must have" for players and DMs alike. 🥰 --- An underwater adventure/campaign would be pure awesomeness, without a doubt! 🥰

Some of the stuff is intersting, but it isn't enough to bring me back to modern dnd. Great video regardless :D Glad you enjoy the book! And no technical disasters :D But I also really like having the opportunity to see all these materials through the eyes of a new ref. It's really intersting. I have also really wanted to do an underwater game! It's been something nagging at me for the last half year or so

Xanathars is pretty dips. This and Tasha’s are a must for new 5e DMs in addition to the core books PHB, DMG and monster manuals. Volo’s Guide to Monsters is also great but unfortunately out of print.

I was sad about Volos guide. I agree they are great additions for a new DM, not necessary for a new DM from my own personal experience but great additions.

Awww ☺️ thank you so much ☺️ and I really appreciate the support!!!! I just had my 1 session with Dragon Heist. I wanted to record it but haven’t mentioned it to my players. I plan on running Hoard of the Dragon Queen and will see if they don’t mind me recording it 😃. I would love to upload my campaign sessions on here.
