We've been busily plotting all week and today, on St George's Day, we surprised the nation's true hero Captain Tom with a special Pride of Britain award. We can't think of anyone who defines our awards more and it's our absolute honour to present him with this award.
Every now and then a hero comes along who takes your breath away. We are absolutely thrilled to announce that we have just honoured Captain Tom Moore with a special Pride of Britain award live on Good Morning Britain
Steadfast, strong, brave and true. Captain Tom is the very definition of the Pride of Britain. All we’ve done here is to make it official! We cannot wait to thank him in person at our awards ceremony later on in the year. He has inspired a nation and what he’s done goes way beyond raising funds for our amazing NHS - he is the Captain of our hearts. Captain Tom, the Pride of Britain, we salute you.
