When I saw the map I knew exactly what you were gonna show. I collect loose keys like that for settlement decoration. That particular key is static and cannot be carried home to a settlement. I still remember the disappointment when I first discovered it.

That is proof that developers wanted people to find this. The best way to hide something in a game like this is to make it look normal. By making that key different than all others they guaranteed gamers would pay attention to it.

@@kiiingst0n That's why I mentioned _loose_ keys. Keys out in the wild (not in a container or behind a load screen) that we can carry in front of our character instead of putting in our PipBoy. Similar to carrying a traffic cone or tire or something like that. If you look at TIMENG's vid from a few days ago called "Never in all my years of playing did i knew this room existed" you will see the "Sleepwalker's Key" That key is not static like this Neponset key is and can be carried home and used for decor. You can even see the key move in that vid.

That's the first place I go to. It's also a really good way to get crystal without leaving sanctuary. Quick save before going in and look at the box by the bed. If it doesn't have something that scraps for crystal, reload the quick save and go back in. Once you loot it, it doesn't refill, so it's worth the loop for the crystal in my opinion

@@pholland2357 other than upgrading energy weapons, what is crystal good for? Even with the laser musket, it may take a while until you have a good enough gun modding perk

@@danielnemesio3388 crystal is needed for the recruitment beacon as well. By getting it early, you can actually have the settlement up and running before you ever go to concord

@@danielnemesio3388 gotta have it to build a beacon. I haven’t left sanctuary yet and have 20 settlers, 72 food, 5 stores, 3500 caps.

@@erikawhite3520 when you have 30 settlements and stores in all of them youll be making a lot of money doing nothing...i went and did far harbor dlc and when i finished all of that and came back i went to all my settlements and each had at least 40k caps...im a multi millionaire now

The story behind this scene makes it that much funnier. The dead guy with the keys is an author(not a very good one, going by the terminal entries). He's not fond of his family, so he rents the cabin in an attempt to escape them for some peace and quiet. He believes he's finally found the quiet he needs to work on his book, only to get distracted by the construction noise going on in the quarry nearby. This goes on for days, with him slowly losing his mind. He finally snaps, grabs his rifle and heads out to shut them up for good. The only problem is that the day he lost it was Saturday, Oct. 23, 2077: The day the bombs dropped.

I found this on my first character. I made a sniper and spent a lot of time exploring early on since he was good at taking out high lvl threats. I'm having some fun with a melee character atm. Teleporting around and slashing is very satisfying.
