I worked at CYAN in 2000. Rand Miller was a class act. The nicest man I ever worked with. I tried to get the studio to convert to Unreal while we were doing realMYST.

Thanks so much for posting this here! It was truly a joy working with Cyan on Firmament. There's still one more big Myst Easter egg on the soundtrack that hasn't been found yet, for any one who's curious. Maybe I'll make another video about it some day.

i already own firmament and the whole franchise on GOG Galaxy but i have now just rebought them on steam, this franchise was my childhood, especially MYST III Exile

You did amazing work on Firmament's music, the game genuinely felt like a different flavor of Myst when I played it and now I fully understand why. Myst was my very first computer game that my dad bought me years and years ago now, and it has always had a special place in my heart. Thank you so much for contributing to the beauty that is Myst and Cyan Worlds.

Hi. Very interesting video. I’m an old fan of Myst and Riven. We’d certainly recognize the first little riff as it’s originally played. But the way you treated it (slowed and reversed), while cool, makes it unrecognizable. No way I’d know that those two things are related. Anyway thanks for all your cool work. Best.

Whoa what? I did a double take seeing maclaine's face on this channel. I'm a huge guild wars 2 fan in addition to being a huge Cyan fan, and I know his work from the former. Crazy to learn he worked on both!

Great hidden stem. I loved firmament but since I was playing on unsupported linux because unreal engine dropped it i got a gamebreaking bug at the teleporter to the 3rd world that they cant afford to support. Oh well.
