Honestly, most businesses would be better quality if the original owner was still running them. Corporations like McDonald's and Walmart went into the trash because the owners were sellouts. Kill off your business when you know you are getting close to retirement.

I have a $45K car but it's paid for in cash. The average new car nowadays costs about $48K. New cars are expensive now, it's not like it was before, and I feel if people can't pay it off in a year or a year and a half, then they shouldn't be getting a new car. Or even a used car that cost $45K. Get something that's about $10k to $15K.

Boy, I know how this goes. When my spouse and I were building our home, we were constantly making cash purchases as we went along for things that were not in the original construction loan. Example: we estimated 5k for floor covering. When it came time to put our flooring in, the cost was like 2 k more. So, we had to come up with cash for that. It is difficult to estimate and control your building costs. And I would bet this is a major part of caller's stress. They should sit down and work out on paper what they agree to cap these overages at and on what. Caller is feeling like they are on a run-away train.
