At least 4 out of 10 humans on planet Earth are deficient in Iodine (maybe even you). Iodine is used by every cell in your body and you will suffer from not getting enough in your diet. Given that our world is currently swimming in fluoridated water and bromine additives, the amount recommended is not nearly enough. Dr Brownstein has been my doctor for 20 years. I was suffering from chronic sinus and respiratory infections. I would get one or two infections per month. He did such extensive bloodwork and found all kinds of issues. He straightened out my thyroid, balanced my sex, hormones, and got taking iodine and Vitamin D before anyone was talking about it 20 years ago. He is years ahead of his time. He is kind, caring, and always starts the appointment with a hug.

I was listening to this in my car. During the first listening I went straight to the health food shop and bought some more Lugol’s 5% solution. I had run out months ago. On the trip home, I listened to this for a second time, back-to-back. I just got home and took a dose of 4 drops Lugols solution and some Celtic sea salt with my water. This interview impacted me that much. Thank you.

I have the answer for you as to why you didn't learn this in med school..... My grandfather was a scientist. Made meds. He was the top man at his lab. In 1985, big pharm made the decision to go from preventative care to managed care. By 1989, they were full on subscribing and implementing this philosophy. I asked my grandfather at his retirement party, why would they do this. He said it was all about the money. Keep us sick, make more money. And big pharm controls the medical schools. You were never going to learn how to truly keep a person healthy.

My rough collie had Lupis that was attacking his nose, eyes. The vet gave him Prednisone which was better than nothing. I had difficulty monitoring the intake. It was such a fine line. His joints became inflamed and would bleed out the skin. He could not get up off the floor. I thought for sure I’d have to put him down 😢. But then I was introduced to Dr Brownstein and why Iodine. I engulfed the information. The slowly began feeding my dog. Within 3 days he was an entirely different dog! Long story, he did loose a bunch of hair as I balanced a tiny bit of prednisone and diluted the 2% Lugol’s solution. But I’m happy to report my dog is happy, healthy and well ❤

Hi Shaun Smith, I visited the GP this morning. She took a look at my supplements and told me to stop taking the ones that contain iodine, saying (paraphrasing), "We don't recommend any iodine supplements during pregnancy. The prenatals, normally, do not contain iodine. I don't see why yours does." I was also advised to stop taking the seakelp capsules since they contain 737mcg of iodine. The appointment had me worried sick. I feel so relieved that Dr. Berry released this video just hours before my appointment. I'm so happy that I hadn't been overdosing my pregnant self.

You don't need to go cross country and spend all that money. Read his material, watch his lectures. It's all right there. Start the iodine protocol, something small like a drop of 5% a day in water, and gradually increase it to a therapeutic dose. It's a natural mineral your body needs; not a medication.
@JOEfromthebuttonfactory
@JOEfromthebuttonfactory 3 ай бұрын
Anyone considering adding iodine needs to look up the iodine protocol. You need to have adequate selenium levels, magnesium levels and vitamin C , plus adequate sodium. Also you need to gradually increase the dose. The docs can’t say it so I will. There is very little chance you can find an MD who is iodine literate, and if you do can you afford them. you need to do it yourself. Read Brownstein’s book and follow the protocol. GET YOUR Selenium levels measured ! This is important before you start iodine. Low selenium while increasing iodine can lead to thyroid damage.
@Valoric
@Valoric 3 ай бұрын
I would expand on that and say while selenium levels are important. The reason why it’s important is what people should actually focus on. Glutathione is the key to preventing thyroid damage. Sleeping poorly can even affect its production. Stress, not enough vitamin C, E, magnesium, B vitamins, zinc and Alpha lipoic acid all can be bottlenecks. Maximising glutathione production is the goal. Selenium can’t do that on its own. But often is the key to unlock it for people. It wasn’t for me, though.
@kaitlinjensen
@kaitlinjensen 3 ай бұрын
@@Valoric that can be an issue for those with MTHFR, because they generally have poor glutathione production, hence detoxing is harder for them (I have it, unfortunately, about 40% of Caucasians have it, but most don't know).

I'm currently doing my own Iodine protocol with my husband, and things seem to be improving greatly. I have very mild Hashimoto's that's been improving (prior to Iodine), as in, my antibodies were only ever 9 and have recently been tested down to 3. But I have basically every single symptom of severe Hypothyroidism in the book except for poor fertility. Horrible fatigue, weight gain despite eating a great diet (matches Dr. Ken Berry) for about a decade, having a clean lifestyle, etc. I started Iodine after a ton of research into the way the thyroid works, particularly how Iodine is necessary for T4 (which is what I'm low in). I haven't had iodized salt in a decade, and I have next to zero wild seafood or sea plants in my diet and have not for several years. It just makes sense that I need to include Iodine. We started with 125mcg and have added a single drop (equal to another 125 mcg) each week, plus 100-200mcg of Selenium depending on what else we're eating that day. I'm also personally taking 2000mg of Vitamin C and around 400mg of Magnesium Glycinate, plus 10,000 IU of Vitamin D3 + K2. I've noticed some really interesting detox reactions (likely from bromine and probably some flouride and chlorine): really small pimple clusters, very dark urine, mild headaches, and fatigue/brain fog. I've been doing saltwater flushes that help IMMENSELY. I usually do about a cup of water with 1/2 tsp of sea salt shortly after I take my Iodine and Selenium. Plus I have a very good amount of sodium (from sea salt) throughout my day (and other electrolytes). We're now 6 weeks into this protocol and up to 750mcg of Iodine, and we've both had extreme benefits to our sleep and overall energy. I was suffering from severe insomnia where I'd wake up no more than 1.5 hours into sleeping and do that the entire night, and there was always a time where I'd be stuck awake from 30-60 minutes just unable to fall back to sleep. I now wake up once or twice, usually just to readjust, and go right back to sleep. I'm almost never having any moments of being stuck awake unless something jolts me awake like a loud sound or something, but even then, I sleep very well once I go back to sleep. And both my husband and I have had much more vivid dreams. I'm really optimistic that this is helping my thyroid. I woke up earlier than I have in ages this morning with tons of energy. Got nearly all of my chores done before the time I'd normally even wake up. I'm praying this is my thyroid improving. And I hope my comment can inspire someone. If you have thyroid issues, GO SLOW AND STEADY. Do not just jump into 50mg of iodine. You don't need to do that. The thyroid is very slow to respond and heal (from what I've read), and you're better off going very slowly, especially since Iodine will dislodge the other Halogens and cause side effects. Take it slowly. You likely didn't get a thyroid problem overnight, and you're not going to heal it overnight either.

It is clear that good functioning thyroid is a significant driver for cellular health and good levels of hormones... I have been carnivore since December of 2018 and have had problems with Hashimoto's since 2014. I used to have a visible Adam's apple but when it's my throat started getting swollen and I couldn't see it anymore I asked my doctor what could possibly be wrong. He said that it is just a part of getting older. I switched doctors and eventually a visiting physicians me with Hashimoto's. I was put on Synthroid but it never really helped much and even after I started the lion diet, it didn't improve. I heard about iodine from Dr Barry but I had been warned about experimenting with it so I researched it a bit and found that it could be very dangerous to take too much so I didn't want to try it. But about 8 months ago I got some lugol's iodine because I had been hearing more about the importance of iodine and I started taking one drop a day. Surprisingly I noticed in the mirror that I could see my voice box again and that was about 3 months ago also when I went to the endocrinologist and he tested my thyroid he said that it was within the normal range again and I no longer needed to see him and to keep taking Synthroid. I began treating my mini scratches with Lugal's iodine because my skin was so easily cut when bumped, and my very brittle nails began to get stronger and the hangnails became non-existent and I was able to grow them very long until they interfered with typing. The other bonus is that I have a lot more energy to do my work. I am almost 74 years young.

@noeldeal8087 it makes the dough malleable. Have you ever seen those kitchen machines that work with the flour? I don't know what they are called, but it stretches dough, so apparently, it causes it to be supple, chewy, and thick. If you look up what these chemicals are in, it'll blow your mind. It can be found in fire extinguishers, furniture, plastics, and pesticides, just to name a few. You get the point. In the human body, it goes where iodine is used. Namely, the CREBS cycle. So... when your body goes to make energy, the little nasty chemicals vy with iodine, essentially throwing a wrench in the works. These chemicals are cancer causing and interfere with just about all hormones our bodies make. The solution is to get enough iodine and don't eat chemicals in this family.

Iodine Allergy??? A 32 year old friend was told by a doctor that she is allergic to iodine and so she avoids it because she had a reaction to gadolinium contrast. I was stunned. Gadolinium contrast doesn’t contain iodine and iodine is an essential element. She is having difficulties: low blood pressure , dizziness, headaches, sensitivity to light and other symptoms. She keeps leaving work to go to the doctor and emergency room due to her symptoms (she is a veteran). She is totally dependent on these doctors who are not helping her at all. I have encouraged her that we must do our own research. Researching her symptoms, I showed her the possible causes of low blood pressure: hormonal and suggested she look into testing a carnivore diet for two or four weeks, and also look at MTHFR and supplement with methylated B12 and methyl folate. When she and I looked at a multi vitamin with the methylated vitamins she saw it contained iodine. I am going to suggest to her that she watch this video. I hope and pray that she will discover what is going on in her biochemistry.

My Orthopedic Surgeon was surprised at how fast I was healing so I told him what I was taking he abruptly pushed himself away from me in his little chair and said "well I don't need to see you anymore" and then left the room. Its sad and pathetic that most doctors are not onboard with healing people just collecting the money. I adopted an old mare in 2020 who had a goiter the size of my fist. KNOWING that iodine can help that I started her on iodine pills ordered from Amazon. It took less than a month to see the goiter shrink to half. Now it is the size of a walnut and seems to not be growing or shrinking. But if you saw the difference you would be amazed!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Iodine has helped me for the FIRST time since I’m a child (I’m 52) to not have freezing feet and hands. So very sad when I’d always have to say “cold hands warm heart” THAT’S totally not why…..who knew?!! Thank you BOTH, I’m able to go outside on a cool summer night not wanting to put little gloves on, boy I’d look dumb. I also couldn’t knit much because my hands were ALWAYS so cold and numb. My doctor never ever told me, maybe he never checked off the thing to check in bloodwork? It took 6 months of taking 3 drops a day to finally get to the point where I am not having freezing hands and feet. Now what to do with all my wool socks and mittens hahaha! Thanks again!

Me too! I've been dealing with severe cold intolerance for almost a decade. My hands and feet have always been freezing unless they literally can't be (like in a hot bath or in 100+ degree Summer heat). I've been on Iodine for about 6 weeks, and I can finally say that I can TOLERATE the cold. I do get cold, and my feet (not hands) still get pretty cold at night, but it's never that unbearable cold where I can't sleep, can't get comfortable, and can't focus on anything else because I'm so uncomfortable. I can actually just BE a little cold while cozy under a blanket. It's really incredible. It's sad because doctors just don't care to check the thyroid unless you diligently request it, or you get lucky with a half-decently informed doctor. And even then, you might not get the help you need. My previous doctor said my numbers were fine and to just "keep doing what you're doing." Well... I've been 60 lbs overweight despite eating an amazing diet (like Dr. Ken Berry, and my prior doctor!), and I have nearly every Hypothyroidism symptom in the book, and he just said, "The numbers show a healthy woman. I'm not worried." It was so frustrating. Glad you're getting improvements too!!

Of ALL the healthy foods & supplements I've taken over the last 15-20 years, IODINE is the SINGLE thing I KNOW has truly helped me!! About 9 years ago, out of the blue, I started to suffer from terrible blues & daily bouts of crying. It was not situational... I had - and KNEW my life was good... I did some exploration and suspected I had low thyroid so started taking kelp flakes (approx 1100 mg). After 2 weeks, my blues & crying completely melted away. I was later found to have subclinical low thyroid and put on 60 grams of Armour - but continued - and still do to take the iodine - I believe it saved my life. I will also add, I never got C19, and I can't remember the last time I had a cold or any virus or bug...

Thank you for sharing this. I know our stories are anecdotal, but it helps me a lot to hear others experiences. I just went off my 180 mg Armour Thyroid 2 weeks ago. I've been keto/carnivore for a few years and added Lugol's six months ago after hearing Dr. Elizabeth Bright. I've been doing the 5 drops of 2% as she recommends. I realized I had been feeling increasingly worse and struggling more in recent months. It finally occurred to me to try stopping the meds. Within a week I started feeling better. Now, it's only been a couple of weeks but seems stable so far. I need to get labs redone to see where I am, but going by symptoms it seems like the combination of the fats in carnivore and the iodine have been game changers. I already got off of blood pressure meds, daily sinus meds and reversed pre-diabetes. It would be amazing if my hypothyroidism has been cured, or at least better managed without expensive meds!

Thank you Dr Brownstein for your work on iodine and being interested in solving the underlying cause rather than going with the protocols taught in school. I have been a practicing nurse in the hospital setting for the last 16 years and have gradually became disappointed with our medical system in the United States. Way too often patients are seen as the diagnosis they received and the disease is only patched. I speak up for my patients and challenge the treating physicians many times. Unfortunatelly there is not an interest in treating the underlying cause, in general. I have been getting more aware about the potency of natural remedies and how they truly help resolve health issues. I am working to raise awareness in my circle of friends and medical staff. I am really thankful for the information provided in this video. This is truly ground breaking work for our times. Blessings!
