tl;dr for smokes during defuse: smoke the spike unless u have info that all of the enemies are in a chokepoint, then u smoke that chokepoint (eg. main)

Great Vid! I still struggle to remember to send mid site smokes myself sometimes as I'm overwhelmed and just try to smoke chokepoints that they have already gotten past by the time the smoke blooms

i think smoking the spike is almost always better than smoking the choke point even if you have choke point control, because if you tap in a smoke (let's say sunset), they can't safely spam if you have teammates on either side, if they spam then your teammates know where they're shooting from and can exec on that location + they don't know if its a tap or a hold so they are incentivized to continue spamming as a priority over shooting the teammates holding you. Personally think the only time it's really appropriate to spam the chokepoint is if its an unspammable angle and they have to peek to seek it, in which case your team can effectively hold a cross on the edge of the chokepoint smoke. Reason with me though, am free and open to other perspectives. Also for some reason your footage of VCT have stutters/low fps, unsure why. Nice video though I really like the flowchart.

Do not smoke the choke point if they’re there unless you can isolate them from their teammates on site. Otherwise the other team is just going to spam the spike like on sunset B

Whether to smoke the spike or not is very simple. Ask yourself have we cleared site? If the answers yes then smoke the spike, if the answers no then smoke the choke point. Unless you’re REALLY in a time crunch and you know you’ll need to save a smoke for the spike
