Robin has a voice like velvet..just so beautiful. R&B & sould never sounded so dreamy and stunning. The man oozes class, talent, & makes Marvin Gaye & old school Motown artistry proud. Paula Patton is very lucky! Robin is also very lucky (Paula is an amazing actress, loved her in "Idlewild"!). They've already done some vidoes together, now time to do a musical film together!

I'm like so many others on here. I like both JT and RT. I've even seen Justin in concert, still of course want to see Robin. But, I do feel Robin is more soulful. Fine, they have similar voices, but JT seems imo, to try to sing R&B. Robin's singing is just effortless, like he's singing the only way he knows how. I can listen to RT all day!

Funny How Timberlake rips off the opening refrain on this for Pusher Love (but just changes up the notes). I think Justin was thumbing his nose at Thicke becoming quite Timberlake -light for a while. Hence the black dinner suit image for 20/20 too! Naughty...! ;)

ppl, plz stop comparing Robin and JT. Its like when ppl try 2 compare Prince and MJ, both r GREAT but TOTALLY diff, same situation. (no im not saying that either Robin or JT or on their level, only using them as an example)
@Beej210811 жыл бұрын
Not only did Timberlake look to steal Thicke's image (tbf,Thicke started to ape Timberlake!) but he totally takes the string beginning of this song right at the beginning of 20/ 20 (Pusher love), lol!!

Oh, so now your woman is your "baby"? Someone you have to take care of? Someone you have to be superior to? #thisiswhyweneedfeminism
@marinedoc9210 жыл бұрын
People in relationships often refer to one another as "baby". It's a term of affection used by both genders. She is as much his baby as he is hers. He simply extends the baby metaphor throughout the song. Please don't shoehorn feminist agenda's into this song.
@MarauderM00gi10 жыл бұрын
marinedoc92 OH REALLY? Babies are defenseless. They need to be protected. A grown woman is no baby! Calling a woman such a name should be offensive! It's the highest form of misogyny! #2014Femnism
@marinedoc9210 жыл бұрын
Y-G-J The point isn't that she _needs_ to be protected, it's that he _wants_ to be there for her in every way and, yes, protect her, just as a woman would (should) likewise want to care for her significant other to the best of her ability. One _should_ feel secure in one's relationship ("You can trust me"); one _should_ be able to confide in one's other to sate one's fears ("I'm you're blanket /You don't have to be afraid..."); one _should_ be able to be one's self totally with their other ("You can be all you want in front of me"/"You don't have to be perfect Cause you're perfect the way that you are") The baby is a symbol, but not a direct/literal analogue. A baby is defenseless in the literal sense, but, in the context of _this_ song, in the sense that is being used _here_, I'd argue heavily that it represents preciousness (importance), and the purity of love without pretense. If calling a woman "baby" is a feminist issue, would you likewise take issue with a woman calling a man the same (as they often do)?
