Our relationship with our horse needs to be one of communication and relationship. We need to teach our horse the signals, teach them to trust us to the point they can willingly follow the signals, and then let them do it. We need to get to the place where we let them drive their truck.

Thanks for explaining what eloquence means. I think myself and many others will learn from that. I'd like to share my perspective too. I believe @thisiskindacrap13 asked two important things. Eloquence seems like the answer to why the videos brought comfort - that's part of it or maybe all of it. But I think there's more to why these videos initially made them feel better. I might not be totally right, but I believe there's something special about why those videos helped at first. It's good for @thisiskindacrap13 to reflect on why, beyond just the speaker's great way of talking. It's like there's a unique reason behind it, and understanding that might guide them to find that same comfort outside of these videos. That's what makes these kinds of connections and comfort special to me.

I love how uncut and unedited your content is, it shows that you are what you preach. Cant stress enough how many people these days are sharing completely fabricated ideas with those highly edited and cut videos every 2 seconds, arguably in that manner anyone can give substantial advice but it’s just unnatural.

Great point. I stopped watching peoples "advice" or "my story" videos because of their highly edited talking. I remember people insulting me for just saying to this one particularly terrible offender, "Dude, do you know how to talk? How bad are you at ... talking? You're cutting every five seconds and its distracting and makes you seem incompetent." If you want a good channel with none of that nonsense, David Hoffman has a channel where it's unedited people who are just great, raw story-tellers.

@@heckssoda588 taking a pause during speech is natural, it would add an aspect of relaxation to the video. The reason that make dewayne relaxing is that he does not cut and edit videos. Sometimes he takes a pause and can just catch a breath with him. @@DryCreekWranglerSchool wanted to say a few things about rev. 13 to spread awareness. 1. you can see the # of the beast on two things. CARBON has 6 protons, 6 neutrons, 6 electrons (climate change lie is all about this element) the other is bill gates has an p@t£nt # with a O and 6 repeat three times. this is a reward system for staying in there 15 min. cities and rewards in CBDC (whole world is making these cities along with CBDC money that is programmable to expire or ear mark for certain things. around 150 countries out of 198 are in advanced stages of development along with BIS and IMF world banks) 2. rev. 13 uses a metaphor about 7 headed beast (world ruling powers over time rev. 17:10 explains). the 7th head was described as having been struck down and brought back. League of Nations was dismantled and brought back as United Nations. so this world power is soon to be. the UN is already asking for "emrgency world powers" by 2030 (star wars analogy fits) over climate change (too much CARBON or there #. we are the carbon based life forms they want to get rid of) hopefully you see how there is enough info. now to see what rev. was talking about. thanks for reading, love the vids.

Everyone- This topic…is exactly what applies to raising teenagers. Terribly challenging at times, but awfully rewarding. You aren’t driving the truck sometimes; when they are, you’ll never go to bed early. But that’s the only way to getting what you want and need done. Whether it’s instructions, lessons or wisdom, you aren’t doing the learning, and you can’t do it for them.

He talked about trucks, horses and a little history lesson, and hidden in there, is some great relational advice. Parenting advice, for older children, anyway. We're not steering the truck any more, and can only offer a bit of guidance. (And just hope they don't run us over!)

Hello I am Sheila from down in Texas and I’m commenting on my grandsons account on the you’re not driving that truck about the horse. Well, I wanna share an experience with you about a colt that was given away at the fair with purchase of a ticket of a $5000 value 6 month old colt, this man that won the colt let his young nephews ride the colt up until the colt was 2 years old for the fun of bucking till they were thrown off. Nobody could ride that stick of dynamite, so the man gave him to my husband who could definitely ride. My husband was determined to prove that he could calm down that stick of dynamite. He finally got him to come to an easy trot, but after knowing for 8 to 9 years he would takeoff in a gallop but that horse would take off and buck like a stick of dynamite every once in a while. You could never take it out of him. Just thought I would share this experience. Thank you. Enjoy your show and I enjoyed the part about not needing your wife. You wanted your wife that meant a lot to me I cried on that one. Thank you and I will continue watching, be blessed

Thank you for this natural lesson. Many do not know the difference between complex and complicated, which leads to all kinds of issues out there. I like your analogy of trucks vs horses. A truck is very complicated, with many moving parts and requires a high skill set. But when you remove one of those mechanical parts, the truck no longer runs anymore. You also cannot turn that truck into a bicycle with that missing mechanical part. Complexity is capable of understanding, adapting, and changing to its environment. I think of this concept like a forest. Too much water vs too little water won’t kill off the forest. It is alive, like a horse or human being, capable of growing in skill and adapting to various things. But complexity requires a different approach than complicated things.

As a retired school teacher of 37 years, I can relate to your suggestions and endorse them. An interesting side note on the hand signals for trailer hitching and the way they become more and more subtle: I had the opportunity to travel to India some years ago, and riding in a car there in a city is an altogether different experience than here in the states. At first, you get the impression that there are no rules on the road except one - “the bigger vehicle has the right-of-way.” Period. To a visitor like me it all looked like chaos. Then after a while I noted that drivers there use very small, subtle hand signals and eye contact to cooperate and navigate through incredibly choked intersections where an untrained driver from elsewhere like myself would become frustrated, panicky, and angry. I began to appreciate the way drivers in New Delhi -which makes driving in any North American city look like a cake walk - managed to make it work with their patience and subtle communication - when faced with situations that would completely unnerve guys like me - a trI-axle coming down a one-lane, one-way street directly toward me. Three elephants being ridden down a major highway. A huge farm tractor pulling a wagon through an intersection where five roads converge. You get the idea…which leads me to another of your suggestions DeWayne, that I want to endorse: if you ever have the opportunity to travel and experience a different culture, it’s the best education. I don’t mean go to some resort and never leave the grounds, I mean to get out among the people that live there and see how they do things. It might feel a little uncomfortable at first, but from my experiences, I’ve always met and learned interesting things that way. Thanks for your videos and keep up the good work.

Understanding any animal, is key to getting them to trust, and work with you, not against you....I learned this by riding alone in the woods, and raising newborn foals alone...the only help I ever got was from the horses. I have met so many horse and farm owners, who have never learned anything from the animals. I don't know everything, and I am always open to learning something new.

I dont have a horse, but I do have a dogs. its unfortunate how owners treat their dog. Complete lack of actual communication. I have two dogs, but one of them is "my" dog. She is something like 14 OR 17 years old, I always forget. She is deaf, pretty blind and she became a bit slow... Because of other health related reasons, the doc gave her 5 months, if we are lucky. The world around her is probably pretty dark, and not much of her former self remains. When we go out for a walk, she still understands what i expect her to do. She has no trouble keeping up or staying on the path (most of the time anyways). its remarkable how well she adapted, even tough she lost most of her sensory abilities in a relatively short timeframe. I am glad that, for me at least, she is still in there somewhere.

As a kid, I loved cats(still do). I would chase our cars around the house trying to pick them up all the time. They didn't want anything to do with me. Once I got older, I quit doing that. Wouldn't you know, even the ones that were a bit standoffish started coming up to me and letting me pet them. Works for other animals as well. It all boils down to: let them come to you. When they do that, you know they genuinely like and trust you.

Hearts & Minds for horses. I like that. So do the horses. Besides being a more humane and logical process there is another element to that communication process. Successfully done you end up with a relationship that goes far beyond simply understanding the commands. It’s one in which both parties understand the other is looking out for the others best interest and are willing to take action before even asked if it is deemed appropriate. You can not ask for more. Thanks. I'm having a bad time with my coworker, I was running out of patience because he doesn't have the mindset to carry with what we want from him even if he knows exactly what he has to do and how to do it. I'm not being hard on him but he's getting more and more negative. I needed this video to stay ahead of this situation, I will work to get his cooperation. Eventually he's going to walk away...
