Be principled yourself before asking others to be. Its astonishing how you equate the two conflicts as if they are remotely similar. You dont use the same standard to judge apples and oranges.. because they are not the same thing. A standard has to be applied that is appropriate to the thing you are judging. So have some damn principles and dont close your eyes to simple logic just because you dont like one group.

PBD is a master at talking a lot and saying nothing. Total political lightweight. What he does is stretch out anecdotes and superficial observations, basically as the equivalent to a pregnant pause, while he rifles through his mental filing cabinet for either some example of something related he thinks he understands, or until he manages to say something the other person responds to, at which point he then finds something they're saying that he can seize on and use as a hard pivot. Never have I gotten an impression he reads much beyond headlines, let alone, like, books and stuff. And time and time again, when he does cite a source, it's painfully obvious he doesn't know (or care) the difference between a news article and a conspiracy theory blog.

It doesn't have to be this way. Same as in South Vietnam, there are effective, sincere leaders here but the current US administration backs useless milquetoast ones, most of whom are actually ethnic Russians, not real Ukrainians, who are more concerned about preserving the post Soviet status quo than about winning the war. There were times where, although the US may have backed unsavory governments, they backed winners.
